I'll toddle along I think. Someone send me a PM to remind me?

Well I dropped in - it was excellent I must say - the pacing and range of engagements was spot on (I was firing at targets too distant to discern through a G3 scope!), shame that more people didn't turn up because it needs a full 64 players to work on a map the size of Kashan where I have no doubt it would shine. One thing that was obvious is the need to either replace the AA guns with a mounted 50 cal or ban placing them altogether ... noob cannons are not conducive to good gameplay.
But it definitely works ... (probably better than the PR Devs would want), although unlike infantry mode in BF2, is probably going to be unpopular because it is much slower, it is more tactical, there are no free tickets to the kill counting tanks/choppers and is probably feels too realistic for most PR players here (the Arma crowd would love it I think). I like it alot though.
Hope to see the EEF server up (and more populated) in future with this game-mode

Wait who where you? That was a fun round even though we got owned 4-- to 0.Jonny wrote:My side, the one with more pubbers on, needed a LOT more communication.
we didn't have enough to defend FBs, and for some reason we had a transport squad when the infantry had enough vehicles?!
we managed to dig in though, the assets were very effective. you just couldn't engage any targets without them because of the lack of jeeps.
We will probably run this again next week, same time/server. Hope we get a few more then. The first map will be Road to Kyongan-Ni.
EDIT: oh you where the SL, good job.

Most people play on Friday/Saturday/Sunday nights not midweek - hell when I have to go to work the next day after playing a few rounds at night, I'm usually shattered. We will probably run this again next week, same time/server. Hope we get a few more then. The first map will be Road to Kyongan-Ni.
And isn't Road to Kyon etc an infantry map already (that most people hate). The whole point of this experiment I thought was to play the big armour heavy maps in a new way - Kashan, Kufrah, Zatar, Ejod and Qinling for example. This tweak won't play any differently on maps like Assault on Mestia or even Fools Road ...

More used to leading people who cover each other and get kits (inc. medic) by default, so that explains the dodgy commanding.
Yeah I would have gone medic but I am pretty useless with iron-sights and at the range that we where engaging the enemy I would only be able to sit there.
Sorry I couldn't take that blackhawk down with LAT.

Yeah I guess that is correct but it kind of just make me feel useless when I can't shoot anything and I probably would have ended up dieing, like I usually do.Jonny wrote:$kelet0r:
Kyongan normally contains armour and things that eat assets (APCs, tanks), this time many of the forrests will be defendable and very important.
it should also be over quickly so we can get people used to fighting together and then switch to Ejod/Kufrah.
Tef:
you dont engage with medic, you keep the people who are engaging alive and well then watch the flags fall.
Hopefully next time the squad will have better communication.
