I've been seeing a lot of threads with people complaining about ammo bags etc, and playing Band of Brothers gave me an idea that could shut them all up.

Heres the idea, every soldier carries about half of the normal amount of magazines "in his gun", and the rest are in his inventory, like field dressings. This means he can toss extra magazines to his friends, or use them his self. This also slightly simulates manual reloading. Each clip would only resupply one magazine, and you could pick up these extra magazines to resupply your throwable clips. The same could go for things like grenades.

Now the only problem I can see with this is people throwing rifle magazines on the ground to resupply missiles, or LMG weapons etc. I dunno if there is a way of limiting what type of ammo an ammunition source can replenish, but you probably cant.

i like this idea. also to stop the thing were it could roll down the hill just make the pack stick to things like the soflams projectile. i am somewhat sure you can limit the type of ammo that can be reloaded, it would also make reloading a bit harder in pr and i like that.

BUT, if somehow two weapons could share same ammo, we should do this.. But then comes the problem of that guy with M16 suddenly rearms guy with sniper rifle or AT or something :roll:

You can give each weapon an individual loading type. Why it isn't in is lost on me.

Maybe instead of giving only half our mags, maybe give an option amongst the other weapon slots, throw mag, and it subtracts one mag from your 8 mags

maybe you have a total of 4 mags you can give away *left click to throe* and *right click to use urself* that would be the best way according to me if its possible.

With the maglink function you can link the ammo supply of the weapon to the "extra mags". You could throw all the ammo which isn't loaded into the gun onto the ground for people to pick up. The problem is that it would take up a slot per ammo type.

Very good idea... I have been in situation when ammo suddenly have ended and there were no kits arround to take... in those cases there is only one result.
This would be nice thing to support the development of true teamplay in the game.

yes that would be a problem but it could be the 9th function on the kits which dont have a 9th function, which would be quite a few.

In a James Bond game, players going co-op could share ammo if they had the same weapon. So they could loan a clip from an AK-47 to his/her partner who has an AK-47.

This seems like it would be difficult to do.

9th slot; make it rifle ammo only. Ammo rifleman carries it as well, but his current ammo slot reloads only special weapons.

Medic's 9th slot bag only reloads field dressings. Would like the old medic bags, but you can toss them.

That sounds good, but would this cause a rifleman to be able to give a SAW gunner 200 rounds of ammo from a 30-round mag? Just stuff like that; I realize that the system in generaly would be difficult to enact in the first place, so I think we need to consider the ways it would be implemented before anyone starts building it.

i think you can change how much ammo a ammo bag gives so it would only give 30 rounds even if your mag was 200, would be possible to also make it so a m16 couldnt reload a m14.
