Training grounds

Post by Psyko »

The Current Status Quo, is that nearly everyone, who has not got a compitant and practised squad leader, opens up on anything with feet in the game.

I have to demand for the majority of the time that squad members do exactly what i say, because they are simply ignorant and incoherant. For gods sake...Most people dont even recognise cover when they see it.

And unfortunitly, i have to spend maybe hundreds of hours to get people into the same mind-set as myself.

Almost everyone is impatient, but a lot of the general public, have the heart to at least attempt to be tactical and inquizitive.

I urge the Developers to PLEASE, impliment a map specifically for training purposes, with a target range, obstical course and loose weapons to be used at the curtosy of clan members to train with.

I believe that many public members would join temporarily unlocked Training ground servers if they truly wanted to learn. and i for one, and i believe whole-heartidly that many others would appresiate it.

All im asking for is a very small 16 map, with no elevation, and some practise dummies that collapse when hit, and an obstical course and some buildings with dummies in them, to do time trials. I imagine that such a map would be so small that it would scarsley be a hinderance on the next release or the release after that.

And with all that said, i ask you to take some time to consider if you believe this to be a worthwhile endevour, because i do.

Thank You for reading.

Having a training map literally does nothing. Having players, like yourself, who are willing to train people who want to become better PR players is what we need. I applaud that you're helping people, but you can easily teach the basics by telling someone to shoot a tree or something. The best practice and training will always come in live games, that's where the great majority of it should happen.

Having members join you in a field activity directs their attention to your requests and orders. and having them out fighting other players disorientates them into acting irrationally.

In actuallity it frightens new players into working "their own way" and not how standard army/marine tactics work.

All this time, for many many months, the PR team have been working diligently to improve the accurasy of realism with regards, to weapons, vehicles and landscapes, but not once have they dedicated themselfs to molding the actual way of thinking with the general populous and members.

And that is the key to the Real project Reality experiance the DEVS are looking for, and also, all of the members are looking for.

And dont say there are tactics forums and guidelines for people to read because we all know, that if you went to collage and listned to your teachers in school, you work and learn many many times more efficiently than if you study on your own.
members need drill instructers.

Deny it if you will, but im looking for change on that front, give me badly drawn out deviation and textures ANY DAY, because with a good squad and teamwork any motly crew can kick ***.

And there is a lack of that.

(mark my words, as much as i have come to love PR, without augmenting the gameplay style that the players produce themselves...it may just end up in the long run collapsing into Vinilla battlefield 2 Project reality)

I would LOVE to have a training map, but it should include at least one of every vehicle in addition to one of every kit in PR. A training map would eliminate(well, almost) the retards who can't fly/shoot/navigate a turn.

well i was kinda thinking mainly for infantry, seeing as with vehicles its not really realistic to find effective targets. When your in armour with a good partner, your sure to be able to practise no problem because to the majority of enemys you are protected. so using vehicles like those would be more suited to actually training under duress of actual enemys.

But id like to get my squad trained without have my voip/vent being constantly cut accross by single enemys that are pinning us down.

for example, i cant bloody well get an automatic rifleman who actually knows how those guns work! I mean its not that hard, you drop an ammo pack and piss out rounds! i mean all you have to do is hold down your mouse button for gods sake. so for the purpose of training guys i know, which i can train under duress, but id like to up their skill so that i can rely on them to acton intuition so that we are tightly knitted together, and not constantly worrying about what each other's skill level is. :/

Was it really so hard for you to check the 'Already Suggested Suggestions' thread before posting?

Yargh; suggested before and was actually started by the Devs before christmas. Put on hold so that other more important maps (gameplay maps!) could be finished up and such. No word yet on when it might be.

Locked for re-suggestion.
