confusing title, possibly reported before but I cannot find it.
This has happened to me a few times recently. I get into a turret (tank or apc). Some type of ammo is showing as zero. I usually just think that the vehicle is out of ammo. I try to fire the gun, and I get the empty click. This has recently happened to me with machinegun ammo, but may also happen with the main gun (ap or heat).
The problem is that, the gun is not out of ammo. The gun is actually firing for everyone else in the game. I cannot see it firing. I cannot even see the effect of the bullets hitting the ground. I can see the infantry soldiers dying if I point at them and click. If I ask my driver if he sees me shooting, he says yes, and acts like I am crazy.
I was in the driver seat once and my gunner was claiming that he was out of ap ammo in the apc, but I told him he was firing and I could see him firing, and I just thought he was crazy.
I guess I would like to know if anyone else has experienced this, and if there is a way to easily fix it. I have no info on how to re-create this situation, or what causes it.

This is known bug and has been ever since the crewman system was implemented in 0.5, its caused by a random guy jumping in to the vehicle without a crewman kit and tries to fire the weapons, IIRC he will be able to fire 1 round and then the code stops him from firing, he then cant do anything else than exit, change seat or stay in the same seat and die.
Now here is where you or your "crazy" gunner comes in to the picture. When you enter the vehicle with the crewman kit after some blue guy has been fooling around with the weapons there is a possibility that the code that keeps the blue guy from firing, backfires on you. This is when the bug you described occurs.
IIRC someone explained a while ago that if this bug occurs you should get your driver in the vehicle to jump into the gunner position and fire a round or two and the bug should vanish.

Thanks Cp2000, that explains alot. Had some problems with that bug earlier today.
Anyways, I seem to be having something similar as a driver in tanks all the time. It's very, very rare that I can actually see my gunners main cannon shots and the ensuing explosion when in a tank. I can always see the MG tracers, but my gunner have to report if a shot was a hit or not, since I can't see that myself. Usually I can't hear the main cannon shots either. Can hear MG fire though.
Well, that bug though is not such a big problem.. communication solves it, I guess. But still, I love the sound of the main cannon, I wanna hear it!
