And please, have a little thought about gameplay. LAT were made one-shots for a reason; having too many on the battlefield is a nightmare, people stop saving them for the important uses - bunker busting, light vehicles, APCs, IFVs and the T-62 - and start using them on any random infantryman they come across.
There are already five available per side, limited to one per squad. That means out of 32 players on a side, 24 of them have direct VOIP access to a chappie with a LAT. It's safe to assume that of the remaining 8 players, 1 is the commander, 4 are probably in tanks or APCs, and the other three are either lonewolfing, using air assets or waiting for something to spawn at main.
Commander shouldn't be carrying anything except an officer kit, the guys in the armour have something better than LAT to shoot with, and the lonewolfers don't need more encouragement to grab a fast vehicle and go rushing off into the wilderness by themselves thankyouver'much.

Yes, mounted infantry very often carry a lot of ammo with them in their transport vehicles. But this isn't unlimited, we're talking enough ammo to get you out of a bad situation, not a full resupply. In a humvee/other heavy jeep I imagine a couple hundred rounds, in an APC maybe a couple thousand. The point is well made that LAT weapons are often strapped/stored on/in these vehicles, but as Masaq said there is enough LAT spam at this point.
I agree that HAT rounds should be more limited, but they also need to be made more powerful against tanks. Right now it's pointless to try taking out a tank with a HAT, they're really only useful against APCs and light vehicles. But a tank should cost like 18 mags worth of ammo from a crate/bag, as those rounds are going to take up a lot of room.

I heard somewhere that the DEVs were tossing around an idea to have the transports deploy an ammo bag or two like the way the command truck deploys a crate. If true, sounds like a good idea as long as the ammo bags are only refillable at Bunkers/FBs

Personally I think a squad should be able to carry up to 2 LAT's if they're disposable. If the faction uses a reloadable LAT (currently MEC does, and the PLA might), then one of the two rifleman classes should be carrying an ammo bag that specifically loads one rocket worth back into them.
EDIT: Any chance of the LAW 80 getting that nifty spotting rifle?

wat about making a new form of ammo dispenser eg
drop 1 of these which can give 2 people full ammunition before running out

i do think that more vehicles need ammo, im sick of being an engineer and told to mine a road and then going "I need ammo" and the SL goes ahhh we dont have any, go to the nearest bunker, 700m walk woo
