You're only supposed to warn them. If they keep firing, you dont HAVE to bail out. You can simply fly back a bit, land at a safe place and leave the helicopter. They're lost somewhere in the desert/forest and you just walk away. They'll most likely get out too and move to the battlefield, and you can enter the helicopter again.
Or you fly back to the base and do this there.
Or, or, or...

What you can do if you're a really good pilot is back the read end of the chopper into the red No-Fly Zone lol. A hideous tactic from vBF2 used to kill attack chopper gunners when pilots wanted to save the front for their clanmate, but would possibly make an effective way of killing off abusive passengers

lol masaq i used to do that when people refused to get out.... now in PR there is no need to do this anymore in attack heli (they will die cause not in your squad)
but for transport heli gunners, this tactic is still quite effective for those smacktards who REFUSE to get out of your gun, even though they are being totally useless and annoying.
Personally I think all the guns should just be removed, cause they arent too useful anyways and they cause way more problems than usefulness..

Yeah, rip the guns out and stomp on the wreckage
I'd love to see a co-pilot or pilot controlled switch for them, but failing that complete removal would be good.

Another way I can think of to solve this problem is to add one more seat in the BH and other transport helos and make the two gunner seats only available for squad member of the helo pilot, just like how it is with tank's and APC's driver and gunner seats. This way only your SMs can use the guns, and if they misbehave you can kick them out of the squad and still be able to transport a full squad.

8 is max, complete maximum. On the basis that you want to be able to transport a full squad of 6 players from within a seperate, dedicated transport squad, you can't lock both those gun positions.
Although... I just had a Thought...
If the birds came with one squad-locked position (say, #2 - the port side is usually the one with the door on it), and removed the weapon on the other side...
You'd end up with birds that had a single door gunner, who could only be in your squad, and still have 6 positions left for a full squad being transported.
Bingo, solved!

totaly agree !! or if we can find a way to lock the BH and leave for the air force squad , but im sure thats hard-codedlol masaq i used to do that when people refused to get out.... now in PR there is no need to do this anymore in attack heli (they will die cause not in your squad)

Yeah, the BF2 engine just cannot be forced to accept more than 8 players using one vehicle, sadly.
Also, sadly, I believe we can't edit the original BF2 models, so to get this working I *think* new models of the Mil-17, Z-8 and UH-60 would be needed.

Win.
How would one go about doing that? I'm trying to see if there's a way I can learn about this stuff and so I can play about with editing fairly minor things like this myself, to see how it pans out.
Edit:
Well, I've unzipped the files and I've found what looks like the weapon stuff. Will maybe have a play with it in a little bit, *think* I can see how to do it.
Edit2:
Blurgh, downloaded BF2Ed. It's like trying to learn swahili whilst drunk.

So it should be quite easy. Everything is easy when you are drunk ;D[R-MOD]Masaq wrote:It's like trying to learn swahili whilst drunk.

Okita put up a pic of removing the guns a while ago, it's actually quite simple. I did it myself, but he went and put it ingame and all. So anyhow, it is possible, and as far as I understand it quite legal.
I think outright removal is the best option. I just see too many people hopping in the gunner seat and dying, and then being pissed about it. Make it a seat like any other, and allow people to shoot out the window.
