not going to happen as thats 2x the space in the mod where we could use that space for another unique map.G.Drew wrote:yknow what, it would be good if we had both the night and day maps in PR
We may in the future release day/night different versions along side the mod in a stand alone map pack which users can download.
Main reasons for this change is that we where having some problems with the night shaders again, mixed with no one playing the map since its "too dark", although that is very realistic for a night map...

The map will fundamentally be about infantry combat. Its Ghost Train sized with only 6 cps and plenty of room around them to flank and manouver. Its effectively AASv1 so the action will be focused although you will still need to work hard to balance the assault against the defence, ensuring reinforcements are not intercepted. Hopefully this should ensure there is a good mixture of downtime and intense combat that rewards good squad level and overall teamwork.
I love infantry combat, and thats what this map was always designed to be about. Chatting to Fuzzhead the other night he suggested removing the apcs and cutting back on the transport vehicles to focus it more on the infantry and I thought it was a great idea. So get your knives polished and ready lads, this time you'll be able to see the whites of their eyes

Sad to have morning finally catch up with this map but good to see all the work put into it better
...
Crosses fingers for a map pack with more night versions (at least dusk ones)
Because come on this is "Project Reality" but every army is scared of the dark ?

The nightshaders/filters took a massive toll on performance so it should run much better now tooLevesly wrote:I have to say Bi Ming was such a lag fest for some people where as other much larger maps like fools road run perfectly. Hopefully the change to day will make the map played more often.
Yes!Saobh wrote:So that means jumping frogs included ?![]()
Because trying to get the bf2 engine to do realistic, unhackable night maps is like trying to teach an elephant to make daisy chains.Saobh wrote:Because come on this is "Project Reality" but every army is scared of the dark ?![]()

Pitch black maps where every soldier has nightvision goggles is just bullshit. I would love to see realistic night maps where most of the regular infantry would have only torches and flares, Squad leaders, spec ops and the snipers could have the NVG.PRC_Heavy_Z wrote:no more night maps? pity...
but the map looks nice.
