polls are good, can quickly look at the majority of the views on the threads opinion without reading through it all

Polls are interesting and informative but you do get the occassional idiot abusing them and generally "taking the shine" off the forums.

Let the mods have more control over the members.

At the risk of sounding keen for over-moderation; they should be MOD approved.

We're getting a ton of polls that basically address old issues, and are being created by members in an attempt to prove that popular opinion supports their quest for whatever it is they're calling for, rather than to genuinely inform people or the team.

If the settings can be set on a forum-by forum basis I'd make it MOD-dependent in the General and Suggestion forums and allow it everywhere else.

I dont agree with 'MOD Approved', everyone now again we get a dodgy poll, but quick polls, are better than waiting hours for a mod to get your poll confirmed,

In other forums, mod-controlled polls work well, and the mods here are very very good at their job, so yes, mod-controlled would be good. But non-controlled would also be okay^^

I've got nothing against polls but I need to admit that some polls are... "unreasonable" ;)

My friend and I sing that when we've had too much to drink.

The only problem with polls is that ppl keep making them biased.

I don't think MOD approval would reduce the number of polls any more than good modding already would. If polls are going up that are serious reposts, they should be locked. If they address an old topic in a new way, they should not. More pre-post moderation is not the solution.

Hours? I swear to god im on these forums more than anything else. Maybe not for about 2 hours while I poop. And then, only because I dont have a laptop.

Let MODs filter them, theyre stupid otherwise.

Of course, DEVs and maybe some other members dont need approval for obvious reasons. Except we have to filter Rhinos... just in case.

Keep them without filteration. The mods can moderate the polls after they are created if they are just spam. Only 10% of polls are unnessasary spam, such as this and Viper's topic.

I like using polls to gauge community wishes in the Community Modding section.
