Deviation Question

Post by Antonious_Bloc »

Why is there still deviation after you wait the required time to steady the gun? These guns are pretty accurate in real life; once you're positioned to take a controlled shot, it's going to go pretty much where you aim.

As of right now, you can be prone, wait two seconds then fire, and watch your round fly up and to the left and not even coming close to your target. Has the in-game troop never fired a gun before? Or does he have mini-seizures right before firing?

I propose that the deviation after settling your weapon be removed. It's annoying, and nerfs the G3, which relies on distance shots. Discuss.

Apparently the base deviation is set as high as it is to imitate the effects of sway(which can't be as easily coded as in BF2142) on top of the inherent inaccuracies of a weapon.

It is a well documented phenomenon that marksmanship in combat is dramatically poorer than on the range - that's the justification for random deviation while 'settled'

the deviation isnt replicating inaccuracy's of weapons, its showing inaccuracy of the person firing, weapon swap ect

It's a combination of them all and a little addition to simulate combat stress.
