FPS drop on "old" maps

I see a considerable fps drop in some areas on old maps like EJOD/Jabal. This was not the case before the v0.756 patch.

I wonder if this has something to do with the new suppression shader thing that makes the screen turn dark when you're getting shot at.

Anyone else noticed?

(and yes I have cleared the BF2 cache to re-calc shaders'n'stuff)

It was most noticeable on EJOD. When closing in from east desert looking slightly up in the sky above roof tops - fps dropped below 50. Normally I have a steady 100fps (default cap).

Note, it was still playable, no lag or warp - just that I saw the fps drop on several maps. The Bi Ming daylite version map had same thing but it's a re-worked map so I can't compare.

Might have been something else going on locally or the server. Played on same server all evening. I'll check local or other server today.
