Longer rounds please

Post by Drakenberg »

Hello pr community, as the threadname says i want longer rounds.

Now that you took away 100 more tickets the rounds are not long enough.

They where short before but now they are reallt short, witch is boring in my opinion.

I like the long rounds with lots of flagcaps etc, ofcourse maps like kashan dont need more tickets, but smaller maps witch eats more tickets, should get more tickets.

When the bleed is on the round ends quick anyway...

This will just add more realism, and it will also make me happy, as a priarie dog.

Oh and the new mod rocks, only a few new maps :)

The problem is that far too many round last multiple hours. That's way too long for many people to play at once, as RL etc interferes.

Seemed ok so far, they all lasted long enough expect for one of Fool's Road. Is it a bug that the Brits keep bleeding until they cap Helo, or intentional?

I like the shorter rounds. Before a bad game was bad for so long there was no choice but to leave the server. Now you can get to a new map and rework the squads and tactics and perhaps come up with the winning hand.

Yeah, I like the shorter rounds as well. It usually means you could actually finish a game during a noon break instead of abandoning your squadmates mid-game and screwing up their game plan. I'd say right now is about right. a round shouldn't go more than a hour, that's my opinion.

Im saying there should be diffrent ticket ammounts for each map, bigger maps>less tickets. Smaller maps that are more intence and often bleeds>more tickets.

And yes fools road is hard for the brits.

if people want longer rounds it should really be done server side!

There is a option in the server settings for ticket %, up that too 200% and you get 2x the tickets that the map is originally set for...

I wish admins who want long rounds would just do this...

As a general thing I think it's a good idea, people who are casual players can hop on and play hourish long rounds, people who have time be a little more dedicated usually are part of clans or tourneys so play longer rounds in a better environment for them. I think it balances nicely, your right about the bigger maps though, sometimes a map of Kashan or Fools goes on for 3 hours+.

It depends which map. IMO, Kyongan Ni needs more tickets and maybe even Archer and Bi Ming.

I agree totally with Drakenberg, I want longer rounds aswell.. In most maps rounds are way too short to allow realistic gameplay. If you want to approach the target carefully, you will most certainly run out time. I'd love to see Operation Flashpoint -type rounds here as longer rounds add to realism like Drakenberg stated aswell. Now you got somewhat of an arcadish feeling.
Distances are long, reduced amount of vehicles mean you have to walk more.

Summed up, I want more time to be able to move without a rush where needed, to add more sense of realism and to counter lengthy re-locations.

Someone here said rounds might get too long for people who just want a quick match and then go about their RL business. I don't see how long rounds prevent that. You can still have a quickie, you just don't see the end of the round.

I think rounds are long enough already. If you had a life, you would know (just kidding)

I've always been a fan of the exceedingly long rounds although it's a pain in the *** when the real world calls you out of the game a few times. As Rhino said, SA's can adjust the level of tickets on the server for any given map. As mentioned, some maps should have a base count higher or lower than others if it can be done with ease.

Shorter games early in the morning, longer games in the afternoon and evening. Problem solved. =D

It really depends on the map. A map like Kashan may last for hours, but on Sunset City, whoever controls the central city flag will bleed the other team out in about 20 minutes. IMO, Sunset needs no bleed at all, Kashan is fine, Qwai is perfect, Kyongan Ni needs some more tickets, and EJOD is fine as well. Seems like half of the maps are fine in terms of length because they depend heavily on the team and some others just need some tweaking to them.

IMO; rounds are already long enough as they are, I played Basrah on BA yesterday and one round the GB attacked like nuts and kept dying and tickets went down in 45 minutes, the other they needed 1 hour to take out the first cache then they had a scimitar and solo CR2 camping in the middle of the desert and no one attacking and in a 20 minute span I died once by accident and saw two or three solo land rovers driving around the city.
