Please devs! More scoped kits for Insurgents!

Post by DavidP »

Normally i would be fine with the standard amount of 5 per map, But now that i've played operation archer, I've realized that the Insurgents have an extreme disadvantage against the Nato forces. The whole map is freaking huge! And our puny sks's and ak47's cant reach that far, Compared to the M16a4's with acog's and the only weapons that can rach that far, The SVD and Mosin are extremely hard to come by(I only had one once and could only put it to good use for abit) Please devs please increase the number of scoped kits on that Map! Basrah is fine as is, Op Archer is not.

EDIT: By scoped weapons i meant M16A4 when i stole it off a dead enemy. I did not know that there were'nt any Svd's or mosin's on that map.

The plethora of RPGs is always good, but I agree some more scoped weapons would be good, and keep the engagement ranges long (which is good!).

well that's kind of how it's supposed to be.
As an insurgent it's not a smart idea to engage everytime you see an enemy, instead engage when you actually have a good chance to kill the enemy.

i was just waiting for a post like this about archer...

insurgents fight whats called "unconvential warfare" so dont treat them like your everyday soldier who is trained, paid, well equipped, etc. insurgents suck for long range fighting? well dont use them that way then. insurgents in real life have very few scoped weapons, mainly the SVD and whatever other sniper rifles they have. so its realistic to not give them many scoped weapons.

It would be better if every M16 wasn't as accurate/powerful as a DMR by itself.

Maybe just increasing the # of moisins and SVDs available on the map would help?

No, the insurgents are for ambusing, using unconventional and guerilla tactics, and IEDs. Giving them more scopes or snipers is not only unrealistic, but it would give them too much of an advantage which is something they don't need with 9999 tickets.

I'm not sure but I never saw a single Mosin or SVD on archer. Will talk to paramedic if that is intended. I personally would like a few of them spawn at the caches.

agree with everyone else here: try start settings IED's and massed RPG ambushes...

hit and run tactics, fire your load then RUN AWAY.... have an escape plan, locate a safe place to hide and make sure there is ammo there to rearm.... hit them when you are more powerful, but hold fire when tehy are bigger than you....

of course, most people just tard rush on these maps so these points are kind of trivial, but can hope players may eventually get the idea ;)

Sangin will probably be the only map where it will OBVIOUSLY work. On Archer you probably have a major disadvantage w/ the mountains, i havn't played it yet.

Yeah on most insurgent maps, people just run around like chickens with their heads cut off. I have actually have a SL tell me that we are terrorist run around we are disposable....or something like that.

1 squad of 6 ambushers can set 12 IED's in a given area. This area should have a lot of guys coming through, like a village (hint). Once they're all in, blow them to hell.

More guns and bullets make bad guys go away faster,
which in turn makes everyone in the area safer.

Yeah, go cuddle them and steal their kits. First you blow them up, then you grab their fancy scopes and use them against them.

Would it be possible to get the exact position of the cache marked on the map as insurgent? Beause now if the position of a new cache becomes known to the enemy and you spawn in you still have to search for it yourself before you now where to defend.
Ambushing a road or a village is nice to kill people but if you have no idea where the cache is you can't defend it effectively. IED's in a village and you'll be a traitor before you know it.
If you don't know where it is, it forces you to move around making you a target for long distance shooting.
If you can read this the ***** fell off.

What the heck is with this?
One Style of fight for a gigantic map? I think you have wasted your time.
Even if people start doing ambush runs, how long before they get bored?
Still, given the right circumstance, ambushing may prove to be very entertaining. But saying that, to combat the NATOs, Insurgents should have access to one M82A1 sniper rifle. ><
(Lets pretend they bought it in K-mart. or the taliban equivilant)
