PLA vs. Insurgents/Milita
Hello everyone.
In view of current events, I propose a "China vs. Insurgents/Militia" map.
The only problems here are probably cosmetic, such as that Tibetan Insurgents or Militias should not speak Arabic or Russian. Instead of Civilians, maybe Buddhist Monks?
What do you think?

I had originally planned to begin a map project involving Chinese Rebels, an uprising in response to the invasion. They would be using older Chinese weapons taken from armories (Type 56 rifles, Type 56 carbines, etc). Advantage was practically everything was already in-game, all that really needed changing was models.
Unfortunately, PRC_Heavy_Z (IIRC) brought up possible issues with the Chinese government censoring the game.

I could see this thread going bad, so lets not throw any punches.
Yes, it is extremely sad and pathetic. But there might be a possibility of censorship on the Chinese side
Asides from that, I personally think this idea is quite... distasteful... especially considering current situations. Even though it is a game, I would stop playing PR if the idea is put into action because I can't bring my self to shoot/arrest some monks/citizens or vis versa, it's just... wrong.
BTW, PLA will probably never be used. PAP is more likely.

The down side of a more pervasive government :/PRC_Heavy_Z wrote: Yes, it is extremely sad and pathetic. But there might be a possibility of censorship on the Chinese side![]()
I wouldn't want to be responsible if this ever happened. Hell, I don't know if it's even LIKELY. I know there are numerous underground groups, but are they willing to fight?
I recall you having said this, when I was debating if we should have a "Chinese Militia" force (which apparently exists!), or a Chinese rebel force. Your answer was "both" for this reason, and I eventually dropped the idea.PRC_Heavy_Z wrote: BTW, PLA will probably never be used. PAP is more likely.

Sorry but pretty EVERY war has very unsavoury side to it (aside from people massacring each other of course), I don't see the problem at all. People play as insurgents who suicide bomb civilians, promote violence against women and none-whatever denomination of Islam they are and engage in hostage taking and torture. People play as conventional armies which carpet bomb built up urban areas killing thousands of civilians and also get up to god knows what kind of nasty underhandedness depending on the situations; large or small.
Obviously the whole Tibet thing is just well out of order and there isn't really a case for any form of just cause, even though what could be considered a just cause is total bollocks in most situations, so I can see why people wouldn't want that. In another scenario I reckon it's a good idea.
