Everybody gets stuck at main
I really love almost every part of your ambitious mod, but there is one thing that almost ruin the whole gaming-experience. The problem is that you are stuck at many main bases, sometimes as long as you're actually at the frontline. The thing is that no one seem to be able to drive those big trucks (in theory yes, but in reality no...), at the same time as there are no other vehicles present. I know you had good intentions with this tweak, but this one didn't turn out as well on the battlefield as the other ones... some fine maps are dead boring (not good "pr-boring"
) because the whole team is spending more time at main than out fighting. And you have to put in more vehicles that the regular soldiers can drive, sometimes there is no place to alter a crewman-kit, even in main (I might be wrong, but neither or my fellow comrades seem to find it).

im sure that no matter how many vehicles spawn at the main, it doesnt take long before everyone ditches them somewhere and then the main is left without transportation. so its important that squads place rally points, and firebases near the front lines so that this doesnt become a problem. and when it comes to vehicles, people really need to start using them the correct way. they are not meant to be 1 way joyrides, if you dont intend on using a vodnick/hummer for firesupport and have it stay with your squad, then get a ride from a chopper {if available} same goes for commander trucks, if you dont plan on building anything {which your supposed to be doing} dont waste a truck by ditching it somewhere. this way there will be plenty of vehicles available for squads that play correctly.

charliegrs pretty much said everything that had to be said.
If you find yourself in the main often then you are doing it wrong. Really wrong. Rallypoints + bunkers & firebases provide excellent spawns so there shouldn't be any reason for you to spawn to the main base more than a few times per round.
And in the end you have to realize that the majority of the players aren't that smart.
Doesn't matter if you have 10 jeeps in the main, after 5 minutes of playing all of them will be gone.

Only map I think needs a few more, is the INSURGENT side on (Al)Basra Seems 0.7(56?) took a lot of insurgent transport out. To me this is a major disadvantage in that their play style should be, and is in real life predominantly HIT and RUN..... Which is hard (though not impossible) without decent amounts of transport.
And yes, i mean any car, it doesnt have to be a Technical, though that would be great!

lets take sunset city as example:charliegrs wrote:you could put a million on a map and within 30 minutes there would be abandoned vehicles all over the map and none at the main. and then people would want a million and 1.
round star , at main we have ONLY 2 trucks , that mean 16 players will have transport , WHAT happend with the other 16 ??
more trasnport (and better , not just trucks)are REALLY needed , period .

It sucks when you don't have a commander & squad leaders doing what they should. But that's not the game, its the players.
Having to walk a bit is not a problem, its part of pr. But with plenty of firebases/bunkers and rally points up, you should never be too far form the fight.
But i agree if your team blows then game/round will also blow.. but that's pr, all about teamwork.
But i don't mind a good yomp!

There is not only one, answer on why ppl are stuck at there main.I guess some of the main problems is,like you say charliegs,nr.1 that some ppl, just use them as one way joyriders,nr.2.(I have tried this one alot in Al bashra). That the insurgents are planting IEDs,at the airport entrens, and is driving surcide cars into the airport to,destroying some,if not all the vehicles at the UK main.nr.3 Is that a lot of ppl,(specialy in big maps with jets and choppers)Are waiting to either to fly thoose assets,or get a lift by them.nr.4 a bad, communacation, teamwork and not enought players,to take intative...

well let me clarify, i do think that there should be atleast enough vehicles on a map to get everyone transported at the beginning of the round, especially on a bigger map. im not talking a 1 to 1 ratio of player to vehicle, but atleast vehicles that have enough seats to get everyone somewhere, whether that be a couple trucks, or choppers etc. thats the golden time to set up those forward rally points and fire bases before all the vehicles get ditched.

Sunset is the least problematic map, as even walking from either main to the city isn't ridiculously long. Maps like EJOD are extremely crappy without transport though.
I agree that some maps need more light transport. Right now the devs generally give 4 8 man vehicles (generally 2 support trucks, 2 APCs), or some other mix of vehicles that is right around the max limit for a side, so if one of them gets blown up before you rally or whatever, you have a long walk back.

add in if they don't use it in a set number of minutes or maybe squad all die it returns to main or/and unlocks but then this is the BF2 engine the DEV's have to work with... but they did do locks for kits.Leo wrote:Someone once suggested that SLs could "request" cars from the main and have those cars squad locked. If that could be implemented the whole issue would be gone.

RANGERS LEAD THE WAY!!!
Do not post stupid suggestions just because you had a bad round in PR
