New Types of Kits

Post by Zeppelin35 »

Well I was playing PR and I just thought of an idea that could make a little more interesting. Since we already have specialized infantry kits why not have something similar but a lot more restrictive.

I'm talking about very powerful kits but with really high restrictions. My idea is once you achive a certain requirement in the game (ie. Take out 5 tanks with a heavy AT) you could be allowed access to a new powerful kit. In this case it could be something like a FGM-148 Javelin. If the kill system doesn't work with the engine maybe we could use other requirements like haveing to get a total score of 1000 before your allowed to use them.

Some people say something like this could be unbalanced but I'm thinking of making these kits have really high respawn times like 40 minutes before they go back in the pool.

Here are a couple of ideas I though up

Kit Varient------------Addition

Heavy AT-------------FGM-148 Javelin
Special Forces-------SOPMOD M4
Sniper-----------------Berrett M82
Grenadier------------MGL-140

Just post your feed back to this idea and tell me if it's even possible in the engine.

Tactical Nukes.
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

M82 are anti-vehicle snipers so they would be all that realistic to be mowing down infantry with it. It is also manufactured by Barret

Javelins have been suggested many times before and have been shot down each time because they are kind of like a super-hat.

lock it, everything has already been suggested (there was a time, we had 3 MGL threads a day ;-) )

AND the M82 for a regular sniper is VERY unrealistic

Nay. Doesn't really add anything to the game.

Heavy AT-------------FGM-148 Javelin <- very unbalanceing
Special Forces-------SOPMOD M4 <- dont we already have this for spec-ops?
Sniper-----------------Berrett M82 <- anti-materiel rifle

US:
Heavy AT-------------FGM-148 Javelin
Special Forces-------SOPMOD M4
Sniper-----------------Berrett M82
Grenadier------------M-32 Multiple shot Grenade Launcher (M-32 MGL, or M-32 MSGL) (source Marine Corps News -> Marines carry six-pack attack
Heavy MG-------------M240

British:
Heavy AT -----------------------------Javelin (aswell as the US)
Special Forces------------------------MP5SD / C7 or C8 with scope and M203 (type 40mm GL)
Sniper----------------------------------L115A1 .338Lapua Magnum
Heavy MG (instead of GL)----------GMPG (with a creative use of the 60? round bag as 100rd for standardization, these were used a LOT in N.Ireland for ammo accountability)
Grenadier------------------L85A2+SUSAT+GL (Unless this is happening anyway :) )

MEC: As theres not a great deal of small arms manufacturing in this area, with the exception of Israel, which we can ignore for the obvious reasons I'll look at mainly Russian and certain European supplied weapons.

Special Forces----------AS "Val" silenced assault rifle
Sniper--------------------KSVK 12.7 mm
Grenadier-------------- RG-6 / 6G30 40mm grenade launcher, along with a submachine gun for CQC
Heavy AT----------------RPG-29 Vampir

PLA:
Special Forces-------------Type 05 5.8mm / JS 9mm submachine gun
Sniper----------------------M99B / M06 anti-materiel / sniper rifle
Grenadier------------------QLB-06 / QLZ-87B semi-automatic grenade launcher (again with a submachine gun for CQC)
Heavy AT-------------------TYPE 98 (PF9 8) 120MM ANTI-TANK ROCKET (see Chinese Defence Today - Type 98 (PF9 8) 120mm Anti-Tank Rocket

I know Auto Grenade launchers was a bit of a NO-GO area, however they have small 4/6 round mags, and take longer than a Assault Rifle to re-load... also have a small amount of magazines and only say 2+1 Mags for the Submachine gun.

Well, opening the fragfest directed at me...
Not saying I agree, but thought i'd look at some possibilities as im bored and downloading stuff so cant get a good ping to play PR.

Andy

P.S. I really cant see it happening (and im NOT complaining about that), because its a HELL of a LOT of work for content that will not be used a great deal!
Its sort of a v1.1 mod :)

^^ the L85A2 will be getting a GL and SUSAT, same with all the factions

The only class i would like to would be HMG or something similar.

I was going to suggest different weapons for each of the conventional militaries. I'll post some ideas for each faction as soon as I find some good weapons.

Ok, ok, we've had our fun.

As pointed out, all of these have come up before. As such, locked. Please search befor making a "new" suggestion.

@Sgt.North - the British SR already ingame is the L115A1 anyway.
