Actually I think HK *was* a British company, but then a group of German investors when and like bought all the stock or something and effectively bought out the company, then moved the HK headquarters to Germany...

As to why American weapons are available as unlocks (maybe BF2 could keep the same weapon stats for MEC equiv, but reskin it...) is annoying. BF2 is practically about fighting 1) dirt poor regular armies. 2) even poorer guerilla/terrorists. How can somebody that is comparitively broke buy a 2 or 3 thousand (EASY!) weapon? Why couldnt EA/DICE at least make more Russian/Chinese guns (the older Chinese weapons are really just Russky knockoffs, but cheaper) for MEC such as the AK74, I think the Chinese also copied the Russian Makarov pistol...

UK_FORCE: The M60 is not an HMG. That role is reserved for M2 .50's. The M60 would be what we call a General Purpose Machine Gun, or GPMG. Also, as far as I know the M60 has been almost completely replaced by the FN M240 or the FN MAG (called the C-6 here in Canada).

Yea, i use the L85A1 alot, it does suck, but what the hell right ?.

Plus, the SA-80A2 IS NOT In BF2, it the SA-80A2 has a GL attached and is far more accurate, so u shud do some research. the SA-80A2 is in BF2 : Euro Force though, (found out yetserday) so its cool.

The specs for the M60 are :

caliber: 7,62 mm NATO
weigth: 10.5 kg on bipod
length: 1105 mm
barrel length: 560 mm
feeding belt: 100 rounds
rate of fire: 550 rounds/min

the LSW does put in more Raye of Fire, im sure you'll agree.

much of the UK's armed police forces (SO19) use the G36K, and I reckon the SAS do have access to shed loads H&K stuff, so EA weren't far off. Infact the british army was going to ditch the SA80 and replace it with the assualt rifle version of the G36. I expect that might go ahead one day, as this government seems to love BAe, and they get every defence contract going.

EA put in all the various versions of the G36, simply because they are LAZY. They could just modify them slightly off one model, and then might some subtle chages to accuracy, ROF etc

Just using this thread to avoid starting another one... but can you reduce the rate of fire of the M-4? On full auto (which I've shot before) it is NOT that fast. Seems to be too quick and needs a little tweaking.

Ok back on whatever you guys were talking about... just keep my suggestion in mind.

Navy SEALs use the M60E4, I think. That'd be a nice weapon on some maps

Just to clear something up.

Lee Enfeild designed and made the SA80 series, but H&K bought them out.
So H&K didn't make the SA80, they just maintain it and upgrade it as its needed.

from HK history:
"Edmund Heckler, Theodor Koch and Alex Seidel, former Mauser engineers, saved what they could from the ruins, thus laying the foundation for what was to become Heckler & Koch"

the company was made from the remnants of Mauser, so yeah... it's german through and through.. till the brits bought them in 1991. The german though apparently didn't quite like that and made a group with a purpose to buy it back and they acquired it back in 2002.

ironically, SA-80 resembled a lot of part and is likely to be based on the AR-18, but whereas the other weapon based on it (like G36) proved to be a good weapon, SA-80 original model was so **** that if the brit had went into falkland war with it instead of their adaptation of FAL, gawd knows what would happen to the brit army.

They should of had Put a Scope on the G3...My brother uses a G3 with a scope attached to do Sniping (from 600 meters and on). That would be cool ...

I think so, i do know that the bullets were a 7.71mm....

I figure that if you replace the crappy G36E with the HK416 carbine with 14.5 inch (368mm) barrel then the Medic Kit will kick ***, i know that EA improved the L85A1 to make it more Accurate....But that weapon is still UNREALIBLE !! Or maybe replace it with the APS 95 which has a Rate Of Fire of 650 rounds per minute....

About BF2 weapons, i have been owned few times lately by L96A1..
Guys, we need .3 with these

EDIT : I've seen it in media gallery... can't wait ;]
I didn't kill any1 with L96 so far

I've had G36E and FN2000... but no luck with L96

you must not be sniping people right, works fine for me, specially when I get a good hiding spot nobody ever thinks to look...

on a different note, I wish the would have added an HK PSG1 or Knights SR25 instead of the 338 rifle, hope either PR does or it gets added whenever they patch again in a billion years...
