Tank (MBT) sights alignment mismatch

Post by [predaeus] »

At least on the Abrams, the commander/driver's sight are not aligned correctly with the gunner's sight.

A friend and I usually team up to play as a tank crew. Now if I engage a target with the main gun it often shows as a hit on the gunner's display but as an "over" on the commander/driver's display. The situation remains the same if we switch seats, the cmdr/driver often sees the round go way over the target. This makes it very hard to judge hits.

Now since I am not sure if this is a bug or what it is can somebody please answer the following questions:

- At what range are the MBT gunner sights zeroed in?
- Which zoom step on the gunner's display can be trusted most?

Graphics settings are all on high, but textures and texture filtering are on medium.

I scanned through the forums and found some info about tank main gun deviation but nothing precise yet.

Btw. great work on the ricochets! Saw them again yesterday shelling buildings in Kashan South Village.

EDIT:
By "hit" on the gunner's sight I mean some form of impact smoke, or is that a miss already and indicates that ground was hit and not metal? The thing is that the sight was perfectly aligned (both platforms stationary) so I wouldn't think it did miss.

This is a known bug.

It has nothing to do with zero point of the gun nor zoom level.

I believe the DEVs are looking in it.

So far the best thing you just not to nag your gunner just because it looks like he missed ;-)

Ok thanks for the info. Hopefully they can fix it somehow.
