Ghillie Suit - Suppression - Binoculars (Small Suggestions)
Three relatively small ideas I put in one thread here.
The first idea would apply for the Sniper & Spec Ops kits. These kits would both spawn in with no camouflage standard. However, the player can obtain the ghillie suit through an upgrade request. Right after allocating either kit, they can request an upgrade through the commo rose (Just like how kit requesting is done). Once the upgrade is requested, the exact same kit will spawn on the ground but this time with a ghillie suit attached. This can only be done at the main base, bunker or firebase.
This would allow players to essentially choose whether or not they want to use the ghillie suit or not, and would allow for proper spotter/shooter teams.
Second idea applies to suppression, and talk of possibly having the effect trigger within vehicles (under certain conditions of course). For instance taking small arms fire and above within a jeep could trigger suppression. In an APC/IFV or tank, small arms fire wouldn't do much, but larger rounds from another APC, or rockets could trigger suppression within a much heavily armored vehicle. Would open up some interesting tactics concerning armor where an APC could potentially disorient a tank crew. Helicopters could also be subject to the suppression effect from small arms fire and above.
If possible though, I think within vehicles the older shell shock effect would be more appropriate.
Third idea is to remove most, if not all binoculars from kits except the Officer, Spec Ops and Snipers (Heavy AT, Anti-Air and Marksman could possibly keep theirs also). Reason being is that I don't believe binoculars are standard issue for everyone. I don't see it being too big of an issue, but it would make identifying an officer a lot easier if you see an enemy soldier pull out a pair of binocs. Would also free up some space on some of the kits for something more useful too.
That's all I got.

Interesting, but since Ghillies don't work at 200m's + wouldn't really be worth it.

Suppression is meant to force people into cover, whilst in a vehicle you are probably getting a great deal of cover, so not needed.

This has been brought up before, whilst binoculars aren't standard issue for all foot soldiers, most will buy a pair of cheap binoculars for there own personal kit.

Upgraded SFX in PR. Sniper shoots, sniper dies! Because people like me will walk round the map after listening careful with my headphones on and X-Fi card and will simply walk up and stick him with ma knife!arjan wrote:well in bf2v i was playing mec on the city with a tv station and 3 mec bases or something.. we had all the flags and their was one sniper left.. we were looking for him for lik 20 minutes.. i even walked 12 times passed him, than i searched up in the construction site and looked down. than i could barely see that sniper laying in the grass.. it looked sweet.. you just need some grass that blend in with that ghillie

I agree with jonny's bino idea,Jonny wrote:
It can be done...
I agree with the supression idea, I think it would make tankers more cautious and more effective if they work together.
I dont agree with the binocular idea, but I think the crosshair should be removed for most binos, right now you can use them for ranging if you dont have a SOFLAM, and I cant do that with the ones I have.
But why give vehicle suppression really? When I'm commanding armour I always tell em "your tank/apc is an asset, it must be preserved above all else"
However do 50cal gunners on top of tanks/light vehicles get supression?

Well... if you look at something like the upcoming map "Sangin" where a lot of vegetation is overgrowth (And I imagine more maps will be like this), I would see the ghillie suit being more useful. Not to mention the idea benefits both arguments. Those that think it'll benefit them can request it, while those that don't can function without it. It adds more of an option to players as opposed to being stuck strictly with one or not. Honestly I don't see a problem with it.
As for suppression within vehicles... not too sure what it would be like inside of an armored vehicle being hit by large caliber rounds, but I imagine despite the armor you would still feel the impact within (Also the idea would better help the crew recognize if they're being shot at or not). Would also further put solo tankers at a disadvantage as mobility during engagements would be crucial in trying to doge your opponents rounds.

While I do agree with most of this form of the idea. It would be better if suppression for tanks only happened with large caliber rounds. IE RPGs, Rockets, C4, and Tank shells. IMHO A tank would not and should not take note of bullets coming at them from other tanks, or even the stuff that happens now with the APCs.'[T wrote:Terranova7;641798']Well... if you look at something like the upcoming map "Sangin" where a lot of vegetation is overgrowth (And I imagine more maps will be like this), I would see the ghillie suit being more useful. IMHO If anything should be changed it should be that all vehicle roof top gunners IE 50.cals, and the 12.7mm gunners in tank cuplas, and on both the heavy and light jeeps should have to deal with suppression. But as for the tank turret gunners, and drivers standard bullets, and even 50.cal/12.7mm rounds would do nothing to make them flinch IRL. However a tank shell, RPG, or Rocket, as well as a Slam, C4, or IED should make them panic! Those are high grade weapons and can do some major damage to them so they should have to deal with them as if they have no life left if they get hit.

The problem with adding it is that it would be a waste of Dev time.'[T wrote:Terranova7;641798']Well... if you look at something like the upcoming map "Sangin" where a lot of vegetation is overgrowth (And I imagine more maps will be like this), I would see the ghillie suit being more useful. .
Ghillie suits don't draw at long range. So even if the vegetation was to be visible at long range (As is the case with the fields in op archer for example, the soldier would still shower up as a definite human silhouette. Which in turns removes the whole point of wearing a ghillie except providing a false sense of security.
