manned UAV station
how about a uav building that can be manned by a squad member back at base and fly a uav out he would have to relay the enemy position by viop and once flight plan is set he watches with a turnable camera that he controls. set it as destroyable with a limited flight time before it has to return perhaps vunerable to small arms (if they can hit it)

i think instead of the uav showing you a radar of the troops it should just be a plane. now this would do a large circle around the map for say 6min, it would be flying at the max view distance of the map. now on the uav there would be a camera that the commander could controll, it would have high zoom like 100x max. now if this was say put onto kashan, i think that the view distance would need to be uped to like 2km, this increased view distance would also allow choppers to be more real.

Why not make UAV's deployable by the commander like they used to be and how they are in BF2142 and only give info about that very limited area the UAV is flying over...
Squad leaders would have to be watching their maps anyway to see where the enemys are as they dont get a mini map, it also means that commander dont have to spend the entire time trying to relay to SQLs the information, which lets face it if they did have UAVs and had to relay it over VOIP it would never happen. so if its on the SQLs map then it would at least make it easyer. Mabey only make the Icons on the map show VERY breifly like a second or so.
No need to make UAVs controllable just make them circle for a min or so.
I like the idea of UAV's they must be fairly close to being implemented as standard these days. Along with remote robots for clearing mines and being used as scout veichles. Though im sure these would'nt be any use for PR.

Well the mods are so intent on locking every thread thats a duplicate subject, that threads closed, this ones open. And so what if its a ressugestion, its a new approach to an old problem. New perspectives could provide the answers.

Welcome to the forums. This has been suggested before; no problem, though, just please use search or the "Already Suggested" thread above before posting what you think might be a new suggestion.bondsan wrote:how about a uav building that can be manned by a squad member back at base and fly a uav out he would have to relay the enemy position by viop and once flight plan is set he watches with a turnable camera that he controls. set it as destroyable with a limited flight time before it has to return perhaps vunerable to small arms (if they can hit it)
I don't think mobile Ground Control Station trailers are located that close to the front lines (not on purpose, anyway). The closest UAVs to the front lines are very small systems that are operated by a hand-held controller and thrown by a soldier to launch. These are systems like the Raven.
Locking for resuggestion.
