Black around the edges when shot

Post by litefire1 »

You know that effect in project reality, when u get shot, or a tank or other heavy weapon goes off near you, it gets all blurry and black around the edges?

Well, ever since i installed the new PR i have been having this effect in ALL OF MY MODS! even in regular bf2! It is extremely annoying, i cant even say how many times it's happened to me and i have to sit there for a couple seconds waiting for it to fade. As far as i remember, this didnt happen in vanilla bf2 or any mods that were not supposed to. I do not recall this happening at all before installing the new PR. This happens in AIX, SF, Depo Battles, Airmaps, Wookie Sniper, sandbox, every mod i have.
here are some screenshots from AIX:

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I think you just need to start pr (via pr.exe) and then just exit it. And it should put standart bf2 shaders back where they were. And if it won't work then just reinstall.

When you exit PR it should unload the shaders and you should be able to start back up into any of your mods without this happening.

Someone correct/confirm me?

Clear your shader cache, then start BF2 with it's own .exe

Or create a different nick specifically used for Mods and leave your original BF2 nick to be used only on BF2. I believe this may work. I did this and have had little to no issues with the Gamespy Login servers or anything shader or control wise for PR.

By shutting down PR properly.
