Al Basrah

Post by stoobywon »

I think that on Al Basrah, the British should have a little bird. Like the US one, but their version of it.

The Brits don't have a Littlebird equivalent, I think. I'm no expert, though.

And welcome to the forums! :D

to an extent yes, since you can mount GPMG's on them, but if they are still in service i thought the SA 341 Gazelle AH Mk1, though it doesn't have any means of attack.

british dont have the little bird. the US barely even has it anymore. i dont understand what the fascination is with that glorified news chopper. ooh it has guns, big deal those guns wouldnt put a dent in a tank. too many people been watching black hawk down i guess. i think the closest equivalent for the british would be the lynx, by the way whatever happened to that lynx that was being worked on for this mod?

Well an apache would be cool to have on the map, but it would destroy the insurgents and wouldnt be fair. Thats why little birds would be good. They can go in and take out infantry and its fair for the indurgents because they can get shot down easily.

I'm new to PR so this might be blasphemy but I think giving the Brits if not an attack chopper at least a transport helo with side guns would be a good way to spice up Basra. I've played it alot as insurgent and most the time Insurgents win (skill level being about equal on both sides). I would like to have fear from above. Also infinite tickets seems excessive to me. Why not just set the insurgent tickets to 6 or 7 times the Brits to simulate their greater number but higher death rate? Infinite tickets just guarantees that skilled insurgents will always be there to crush the Brits IMO.

welcome to the mod, and welcome tothe forums stoobywon

given the number of RPGs on basrah the merlin doesnt make a good gunship, but I believe the GPMG or an equivalent is being skinned by someone somewhere, so there is hope.

"skilled insurgents" will win? perhaps, but if the british team ahve their stuff together and cover their apcs with infantry and vice versa then the insurgents will be reduced to sniping. A round of 64 basrah will take a very long time if the british are doing it right, lots of ppl don't have the patients for the required tactics.

Indeed, it isn't really that hard for a good British team to totally own the insurgents. Brits = long-range superiority, they just have to put it to good use.

Yeah, today I played on Al Basrah as Brits and we won with 285 tickets left. No one shot civilians, they knifed them. Thats just one easy way for Brits to wim.
