I had brought this up in a thread of mine before, but it had died out in the raging infernos of oblivion. If a mod wants to lock this cause of "repost", its totally cool, I'll post it in the older thread.
Anyways, about civilians and the suicide vehicles (red c4 car and the big bomb truck), I personally think that allowing civilians to operate these vehicles undermines the "do not engage civilians" type of gameplay we're trying to enforce in Insurgency mode. Not only this, but it can lead to some exploitation that can be really "unfair".
A civlian can operate these suicide cars and blow up enemy stuff... I know because its happened to me way too often. I wouldnt mind, under normal circumstances, but the fact that a civlian, someone who should be considered "non-hostile, and thus do not engage", did it to me, really peeves me. While they can be shot while in a vehicle without incurring a penality, the simple fact that a civilian can operate a vehicle that has a sole purpose to blow up enemy assets disturbs me.
Also, there are a few ways that a civilian could "expolit" the usage of these vehicles other than "jihading" them. Should a suicide car with a civilian in it come under fire, and he braked and jumped out, the explosion of the car would (if im correct, im not sure) kill him and cause a penality to the shooter.
Its stuff like this that civilians are capable of doing in insurgency mode, which i really don't think they should. Everyone has different opinions about the civies, and thats fine, but this really is an issue that I think is straightforward. Removing a civilians capability to use a "suicide" car is easy to do, and would completely solve the problem.
Your thoughts?

Something like this calls for a flag.. If you're a civvy and you do something un-civy-like (such as going in a jihadmobile) then you should have a 5min flag that the opposing force can kill you without punishment...echo wrote:Cody already said that.
I agree with you Cody! Just a minute a go on Battlearena, I was shooting at this enemy vehicle coming towards me (The driver was a civi) - (I was in a scimitar) I opened fire and this guy just bailed out and boom the car exploded and I think I got the civi punishment thing!
But I agree the general idea of a civi being able to get in a bomb vehicle and essentially blow the enemy up, really defeats the whole purpose of a civilian!
Fair?
Edit:
Come to think of it... a civ committing any 'crime' like that should get a permanent flag shouldnt they? Cause that's pretty much just like any martyr today.
