Informants

Post by Jester_Prince »

Due to the number of times I have seen Civvilians in insurgency mode telling the brits the location of caches, I wish to propose a new idea that will alow these people who wish to play civvilans but not wreak the game mechanics.

Personaly I belive its cheating, and for me no matter what side I play I think it ruins my game. However I had an idea on a thread talking about this same problem.

Give brits a requestable "Informant" kit.

This class would be equiped just like a Civilian and look like one.

This would give the informant enough of a disguise to run around albashra or where ever safley, looking for caches, if they find one they can inform the brits and mark it on their maps.

However I belive that there should be some skill to this class aswell, as acting suspicious should allow the insurgents to arrest or execute the informant as a spy without conciquence. The brits would get the same (or greater) punishment for killing their own informant as they would for a civvie.

Perhaps the brits would only get one informant kit per game, so if they lose this valuble asset then they lose their advantage.
Im sorry I went to Mars for a second there but im back now and I got T-Shirts for everybody.

this suggestion has plenty of merit I think.

More objective based aspects of the game are good, and something to fall back on in case of no intel and the insurgents playing conservatively.

I think it's a good idea.

More guns and bullets make bad guys go away faster,
which in turn makes everyone in the area safer.

I can only see one problem, holding your mose over a friendly in PR shows their name, if an insurgent tried this with the informant it wont show. But I guess that will be part of the skill with playing it, not giving people any reason to draw their attention to you or to just totaly avoid insurgents.

I don't think names are that good anyway... (maybe limit to Vehicles/SL/Commander/Squad-mate)

Well, when an Insurgent requests a medic, civis will appear on the map if they check it. . .

But still, great idea! :D They'd be like Spies in Red Alert 2 (with their Sean Connery accent). Adds another dimension to the game for both sides.
