And now to the suggestion: Why not use some sort of adrenaline shot instead of the shock paddles. First up the bad stuff with a defib':
1: The machine itself weights about 15kg ('bout 35lbs for you american people) and on to that a huge 240V battery weighting about the same (though I'm not some expert on the weights of medical equipment this is just estimations).
Then addon the other equipment the medic has (weapon, smoke'nades, clothes etc.), you'll need dudes who look like Arnold Schwarzenegger looked like during the 70's-80's running around the battlefield!
2: How usefull is the defibrilator? It only works like when the heart has stopped beating, i.e. trying to send 240V through a guy, thats lying on the ground having barely any blood left and having more pain then a guy having a mosqito bite on his a** and no arms to scratch it with, would probably just inflict more pain or kill him (which could be good if you want to stop his agonies but then a simple bullet in the forehead would be easier and more likely to success).
3: You can't just jump down onto the ground, screaming "clear" and put two paddles on his chest. First of all you'd have to remove all clothing covering the chest and then put the paddles onto the chest with some precision (not the legs, head or air).
4: I don't think the guy would be just up and running and bleeding just like that, more likely he would be kinda uncouncious.
5: Betcha there's alot more but i cant come up with more now.
And now the cons with some sort of adrenaline syringe:
1: A syringe doesn't weight more then a couple of grams/ounces meaning you could viritually carry arount hundreds of them (but then the game wouldn't be so fun).
2: Some adrenaline would work in most situations (wounded leg and to tired to get anywhere, high blood loss, maby heart stop (i dunno) etc, meaning it would be more versatile on the battlefield.
3: You practicallly could throw yourself onto the ground (not needing to scream anything or buzz some machine ruining your squads position if the guy were wounded from something else than enemy fire) and pull the cover of a syringe and insert it into the guys thie, arm etc. just needing to hit a vein, then in two seconds throw it away and pick up a new one and revive some other guy or run to a place where theair for some odd reason not is consisting of 45% lead or other weird metal moving in velocities of 900km/h (600mph).
4: The guy could viritually being up onto his legs, think what the h**l happened, realise what the h**l happened, hit q and press "Thanks" and then run to safety in just 1,89 seconds and then get patched up by that nice medic.
5: You won't have any n00bs running around trying to kill enemies using it as it wouldn't be too successfull to pull a needle through his skin and then make him able to move his left thie 3cm (1in) form left to right and right to left 6000 times in a minute and react faster than aimbotters in vanilla bf2 does.
6: Lots of other stuff.
Hope I've (though all sarcasm) been able to convince you that a adrenaline syringe would be much better and more realistic (guess that's what the whole point of pr is) then a useless defibrilator that you maby belong a hospital but not on the battlefield of all places and also I hope you may forgive me for all my bad spelling and unneeded text
