But my point is that the view you have in the gunner seat won't change in the night, I mean, the black and white view you have in the gunner view in daylight like kashan has now, will still be exactly the same when on a night map. So this already gives the choppers a good advantage in the night, wouldn't you say so?![]()

was someone forget who now messing around with the night shader filters. Its not real heat vision as if it was, thous bollards etc would not be showing up with a red tiny, they would be blue ie, cold and only engines and people would be red and other warm objects.Waaah_Wah wrote:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0TFkmT3znR4
All thats done is basically the same as a photoshop filter, changed the colour that the noraml colour is interipted by, dont go off any kinda heat and dose not represent heat vision in any way apart from some of the colours are correct, but most are really wrong.

I'm not a big fan of kashan...the rounds i've played on it have never been much (may be because of the nature of public servers), I'd much rather see a city night map, not like sunset city, but rather the boundaries of the map do not go outside of the city, but rather like the urban environment of al basrah at night, with street lamps etc..
Rhino;650145']thats because nightmaps in theroy sound "cool", but when players get on them they get all pissed off cos there situational awareness goes down the drain and quit as they where not expecting it to be like that, they where thinking it was going to be "all cool SF stuff" but really all they find is they are repeatedly getting shot out of places they have no clue from...
I think it is only because everything was wooded and the whole map was sneaking. Kashan would have tanks, apc's, and choppers at the bunkers, making it so SF guys would be sneaking while an actual open battle was going on, rather than everybody on the server playing Spec Ops and hiding the whole round.

Wow, AL Basrah would be great at night, maybe even make it MEC vs. Brits or Marines.

well I was thinking that insurgents will not have NV goggles, but have to rely upon the lighting offered by their surroundings. possibly lowering the attacing team's ticket counter would be a good way to balance it out? AS a plus side, darkness means its harder to spot things like IED's in the road, especially the alleyways!

Hooray for .756
It is like an act of god that a game requiring intelligence and communication is popular in this day and age.
I thought of something else about Kashan, what would the J-DAM look like from a hill side while APC and MBT tracers are flying everywhere in between. Beautiful for certain, someone really ought to make a desert night map, since it would play soooooo differently than anything else.

this dose not change my view on Kashan Desert being a nightmap, and the poll is tells us nothing we already dont know, which is players want to see nightmaps but they would still not play them if they where there more than a few times over a day map.creepinshadow24/7 wrote:what do the highly influencal staff members say?
is this a good idea or nonsense?
We do have plans for nightmaps in the future thou its some way off yet, ie, post v0.8
