I'm puzzled as to why you've brought it back in. Not sure if its a server/map thing, as i didn't see any on gloryhoundz. Heck it wasn't in the change log, so was it even in before? I've never seen any arty on Reality Mod until .25
Whilst there is no UAV or Scan, which makes it a bit less effective. We've gotta make it so arty can only be fired when requested by Squad Leaders, otherwise, a MASSIVE reload time.
And perhaps a once arty is destroyed, it can't be repaired?
For me and alot of my fellow clanmates, it was one of the biggest advantages to the game.
Another thing to mention was that there was about 6 servers up last night, and only one (Gloryhoundz) had AAS running, and the proper spawn times/flag cap zones etc.
You will get alot of people leaving the mod when trying to play this game on conquest.

I think that artillery detracted from the Vanilla gameplay. My squad had just capped a base and were waiting for orders. There is a quiet moment of silence...
Of course, artillery fire usually follows, which just becomes annoying.
In PR, after capping, I find the chance to take a look at the map, regroup and move out to the next point, rather than run like a rat from artillery.

Arty being enabled sounds like a known bug where BF2 allows a small window that you cna apply for the commander job. We'll look into a more definitive way of disabling Commander.
Personally..... I like Artillery but ONLY if it was available in extremely limited availability, only in response to a squad leader request and it took some time to actually come down once the request is granted.
So by timings there I mean like 15 minutes to "reload" and 5 minutes to come on target once a squad leader request is granted.
I think I am quite alone in that view tho lol.

you guys (devs) took scan and whatnot offa the commander screen, couldnt you just do the same with artillary on the button to the side and the one in context menu, that way commanders actually have to right click/context menu >> accept the request for artillary... I should think something simple like that would work...
