I was thinking today about how it would be nice to have the backup iron sights on some of the scopes (SUSAT and I think the ACOG) be usable. For those CQC situations where using the 4x is unreasonable, but you'd still like to aim.
I don't know if it could be done, but I was wondering if c or v could be made to have you use the backup irons above the scopes that have them, like the armor zoom is.
Anybody know if that can be done?

I like the idea.
IIRC, the German forces mod will have both a red dot and the 3.5x optic for the G36.
I would guess you could make it one right click for iron, and then again for scoped view, something like that.
It is a really good idea, realistic aswell.
Nobody wants to hipfire, unless your an insurgent, then it is fun.

To the best of my knowledge you need to separate it into two weapons like so:

But until there is actually some extra time to bring your sights up or some head movement to simulate your head getting into the correct firing position, there isn't much point in my opinion.

In the case of the real-life ACOG I'd like to challenge that statement.Symplify wrote: For those CQC situations where using the 4x is unreasonable, but you'd still like to aim.

I've seen most modern ones either having the irons on top or a red dot sight, that picture is old, he's still wearing woodland and has his ACOG mounted on the carry handle *ewwww....ghetto mount*
And as to the 80% using the scope, it just needs a 3d iron sight view instead of the nasty 2d that is present, especially on the M4 with the aimpoint, sight looks like paper.
