IM SICK OF THE PB SHADER KICK THING
Well im sad to say that after playing PR since .5 im done with it, for god sake remove the new supresion efects if they are causing all this trouble for people.
iv spent more time trying to sort this shit out since i updated than i have playing?????????????????????????????
And b4 any devs pitch in with the usual smart comment hinting that i have changed files well i wouldnt know how to im realy not that clever? but i am smart enough to know that if you want people to play this game and for the numbers of good players to increase you need to sort your shit out end ov.

Yes thats all fine and well but do you not think that with so many people having probs with this it would be better to remove the effect in question?
What was so wrong with the blured screen that has always been in place to represent supression????????????????????
Or can someone please tell me how to re direct my shortcut through pr.exe instead of bf2 exe. because as i said in my origonal post im not that great with computers to begin with.

if you have vista, right click and run as admin, gets rid of that problem, but an easier way, if you wanna get rid of those damn annoying things saying ' you need admin to Install this file' whenever you try and do anything, go to
Control Panel
User Accounts
Click Turn User Account Control on or off
A pop up will say, you have to give admin rights to do this, click ok
Then there will be some text and something you can tick/untick
Make sure its unticked if ticked
will ask you for reboot, say yes
then you dont have to right click on your PR shortcut and click run as admin, just double click like normal

Well, your initial hostile attitude was very offputting, but I know people that have had problems with the MD5 mismatch and I know how frustrating it can be, so I'll throw you a bone.
If you aren't running PR from the shortcut (like you mentioned in your post), copy your BF2.exe shortcut and rename it to "Project Reality". Right click on the shortcut, and click 'Properties'. You should then see a small window with 'tabs' on top. Click on the "Shortcut" tab. The "Target" text line is what you're gonna be focusing on.
If you run vista64, you'll need to add (x86) after "program files".
In Vista(64), copy - "C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe" +modPath mods/pr +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 into the "Target" line.
In XP, copy - "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe" +modPath mods/pr +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 into the "Target" line.
That's it. If you have any problems, let me know.

Dude, you don't have to do all that. Like that stuff about CCleaner and registry and manual install of pb files blah blah. None of that is necessary.
All you need to do is reinstall everything in the correct order. (BF2, full BF2 patch to 1.41, pr core, pr levels). Then install pbsetup.exe (EASY GOOGLE) and run it to update pb. That will take 2 minutes of your time, but maybe a half hour or so of your computer's time just waiting for stuff to install right.

Welcome to the wonderful world of windows pc's!
Most of us have got what is written in that post down to a tee. We find ourselves frequently having to do operations similar to that after installing programs written inadequately or conflicting with other programs on the system.
You don't own a games cosole, you own a windows pc. If you are unprepared to llearn that method which you will find a common error resolving method then you obviously aren't the administtor of that pc, because you would have learned it by now or be willing to learn it if a new windows pc owner.
I'd just like to add a different method to this that I had to do last night as my windows xp installation slowed down and my drivers started crashing my pc.
1) stick XP disc in and reset pc, boot from disc
2) delete master windows partition, create partition, choose install windows on it, normal format method
3) let slipstreamed xp disc install most of what I want
4) install motherboard/graphics/soundcard drivers
5) install software/games I want on
6) start using my pc again.
Seriously, the reason I am posting this is to make you aware that you don't own a games console, but a fragile windows pc

I found this sentence quite funny and since this is a war game forum I will put it here. No offense to the french just a good laugh.
"Going to war without France is like going deer hunting without an accordion. All you do is leave behind a lot of noisy baggage."
