Oh! I know, someone could make a poll for each map!Fraggle wrote:Why not find out Why, certain maps are unliked... a work around/improve it, rather than removing it completly.

But seriously, I think we already know whats "wrong" with certain removed maps. Like I said, its all a matter of finding the time/person to fix them up. Sometimes its just better to make a new map...
Besides, what Bosco said still stands. I dont think PR is ready to be a 50 Gigabyte download... but that might start happening once community mods get put in... unless we just reuse maps and link to a new init/gameplay folder to change factions around [same concept as Oman]

Those are my thoughts, a quick idea would be to continue the idea of seperate core and maps files to download.Gamerofthegame wrote:Question:
Why are we getting rid of any maps?
If it is a bad map, then simply put it won't be on server listings. However, you shouldn't remove it completely from the game. Not like PR has that many maps.
New and primary maps in maps1 with lesser favored maps left to the maps2 file where people especially those on slow connections may choose to download them later or not at all!

Better solution would be to add tickets. Disabling ticket bleed might make it take awhileEnderjmu wrote:Sunset City: Map doesn't take enough time... need more time to play it! Otherwise, it's a fine map. Just disable ticket bleed on that map or something...

Yup. I agree.[R-CON]OkitaMakoto wrote:Better solution would be to add tickets. The concept of one large cap zone in a city is where PR should head imho. Large cities, of course, should have more than one, but the concept of holding a moderate chunk of a city, rather than a street corner is a great step in my opinion.

agreed, stop been obsessed with removing maps, there's hardly any as there is. If maps were only added and not removed then the selection would be fantastic, leave it up to the people playing in a server and not a few posts to what stays and goes.Sabre_tooth_tigger wrote:Those are my thoughts, a quick idea would be to continue the idea of seperate core and maps files to download.

Most of the maps that were mentioned are either total gongshows (Like Zatar... "Letz grab t3h chuppah und CRAHS!!!?!1/1!!!!" And the fact that you cant cap the landing zones... but they have attack markers on them.. =_= (MEC Team of course))
Or like the rest of them. Gauntlets. We might as well get in big lines and take turns firing at eachother. But one team has full auto..

Well, I never really played vbf2 since it was worse game so I can't call anything nostalgic etc.Outlawz wrote:Which one of the maps would you like to see gone for 0.8 the most?
Also, post your thoughts on which maps listed and not listed should see an overhaul or face the music.
-------------------
Hills of Hamyong - mother of spawnkill
Daqing - BF2 map which doesn't fit PRM
Zatar - same as above
Gulf of Oman - same as above the above and biased towards MEC in all ways
Ejod - nostalgic, but kinda calls for a better urban map to replace it
-------------------
- Hamyong is very silly pipe run, i couldnt care less if it would be removed.
- Daqing is the one I like, in some means a good map, but it's small size makes things suck. You can see the mainbases from certain capzones and ... it takes only seconds to travels from capzone to another.
- Gulf of Oman. a lots of open ground (but no space to move) and aircraft carrier parked almost next shore.. pfft.
- EJOD desert. Absolutely the worst map in PR. Open ground, NO air support, main bases can be seen from the cap zones. "City" is too small to provide enough cover for infantry because most of the buildings are inaccessible.
I would nuke everything else than daqing. Replace these maps with great maps like Fools road, Op archer ...
EDIT: oh, i almost forgot Zatar. It's quite ok except that you cannot re-take the beaches, and the aircraft carrier is again - too close to beach. If you leave it there, there will be always someone to attack it even thou it would be "forbidden" (which is unrealistic).
