Helicopter/mid-air jet explosions.

I know its been suggested before, but mid-air explosions need to be removed, because i have never seen that happen in real life. You should lose the engine and spin out to the ground, with a possibility of surviving. and being to hop out, bleeding very severely of course. Mid air explosions are stupid for jets as well because when a fighter jet is chasing another jet and kills it, he might hit the wreck that stops dead before him/her, causing their jet to explode. For jets, your jet should catch on fire and go plumbiting towards the ground. NO MORE MID-AIR EXPLOSIONS!

Never seen it in real life? Haha possibly because you have no expiriance at all. It is very much possible for a rocket to blow you up mid air while in any aircraft, IRL

yes it is, the probability is low though. I support this suggestion. Would add alot more feel to the whole dogfighting scene.

No need to be an *** because I doubt you've ever seen it either...

Of course a rocket might be able to blow the jet to pieces, but what about machineguns?

It is way more likely to set on fire and crash (and explode) on the ground than explode mid-air. But it is possible, and as we all know, you can't do things sometimes, it's one or the other.

Especially in choppers, b/c it doesn't give any time for the pilot to put the bird down and save the troops.

You could increase the hit points.
Cut the power at a certain damage percentage.
But then a guy would unrealistically survive a fatal crash.

I've lost my tail rotor a few times on kashan, I dont know if thats still possible though. It really is alot of fun. Only if i could have cut the engine i might have been able to make a glide landing. :)
But no seriously, If you could make a real crash landing or get the chance to do so, a medivac would become a real option.
I also noticed that starting to bleed when being hit by an anti air missile when i fly a little bird happens too, quite alot tbh. Dont know if that is realistic or not.

Chopper wise, its very possible. A lot of SA-7s and other anti aircraft kits that iv seen blow up a chopper made it go boom. The inside of the chopper catches fire instantly killing everybody inside, and the chopper glides down in a fireball down. See Charlie Wilsons war for the real live footage of that as a raw example. However in planes, its rare to see a plane just blow up. Even after getting hit with a rocket or two in fact, the plane is destroyed, cut in half, the engines are on fire, but the pilot usually survives and ejects.I play Lock on and never does it blow up, at times the pilot dies instantly if hit dead on but no. Whats annoying though is the ejection in the game... u dont actually eject, u hop out like a WW2 airplane, so if the plane is in spiral and u hop out u die instantly as u get caught by the plane in its spin..... kinda gay.

It would be long to code, but perhaps:

1)Increase all vehicle HP to 200%.
2)Code all vehichles(Long time, i know) that when they reach 50% of this new HP value, they will become disabled/ act in a certain way.
3)Code these vehicles to rott and explode after 2 mins.
4)Set vehicle spawn timers to 2 minutes shorter.

Yeah thats what happen when engine fail, crash like Boeing 747... But now try to figure what happen when a Anti-Air Missile explode blasting fuel and weapons..

cant we have the jet get engulfed in the molotov cocktail flames, have it suddenly lose control when you 'die' and only explode upon impact on the ground?

i dont see any mid-air explosions here....

fuel burns, and warheads are reltively stable, you talk as if fuel made of nitroglycerin

Now compare those videos to whats currently ingame, they are vastly different, and shouldn't be. I'd like to see more fire (molotov coctail effect maybe) with maybe 10-20 seconds of severely reduced control before it explodes. Also everyone onboard should go to bleeding or reduced health. This way, a good pilot can bail out, or if a chopper, they can put the bird down and save some of the guys. Way more realistic!

I believe there is a code for this but only works on local servers.

I like this idea...

Is it possible to have it do...
75% health = Control of the aircraft become reduced... hard to steer.. ( like reduce senstivity)
50% health = same as above but loss of thrust....
and like at 20% it just goes on fire and will burn it self to 0% then blow up....
