Ok, I honestly think the snipers need a different way of zooming in. Instead of having it being 2 levels of zoom on the secondary fire button, could it be made to be a different fire mode? You pull the gun out in low power, than hit the primary weapon key (or whatever you use) and it goes to high power. Cause if I have to get the scope down, Id much rather not have to go through two zoom settings before I can see again.
ALso I dida search for zoom, might have been a bit general but I did one.
Different Zoom suggestion

I think infantry have hard coded ability here because of the game engine, otherwise considering armour has double zoom ability, this problem would have been resolved a long time ago! You can only rotate through the zooms like a Honda Cub with a broken gear rod only letting you click forwards. Just learn to relax your eyes when you double click to go from high through off to low so you don't get confused and eye strain.

[R-DEV]Jaymz: That has to be...the most epic response to a welcome thread I have ever seen. [R-CON]Mr.D ladies and gentlemen!

If I remember correctly, that is how the variable zoom worked when we first implemented it. It's been so long, though. *feels old*DeltaFart wrote:Ok, I honestly think the snipers need a different way of zooming in. Wouldn't know, wat version would you say it was in?> I might go to that and see if its there[R-DEV]Eddie Baker wrote:If I remember correctly, that is how the variable zoom worked when we first implemented it. how about right click holds your breath?
of course the crosshair has to wobble. I'd like to see the bullet traveling to where I'm aiming to but instead the crosshair is instable (like in brothers in arms). but i think this is not possible right?
by the way, I personally think the recoil of most sniper rifles is much intense, but in 0.7 while firing, the crosshair just moves up a few millimetres. IRL it should quickly move up and quickly go down again, all in about 100 milliseconds (like seen in youtube movies of snipers).
sorry, it's impossible to do such things and I know they are very low priority. But the little things are what make life interesting. I was just dreaming for a few seconds and thought you guys might to know :/
