[Texture] PLA Desert Vehicles

Post by Chuc »

I've used Geze's colour base and worked with trying to colour edit the PLA's vehicles for use in desert environments. Should match well with their desert Type 07's.

You need to add more color. Starting with the tires and the lights, then the metal bars and landing gear and such.

Desert vehicles for the PLA a.k.a. 2+2 = battles in the desert with the Chinese a.k.a 4 :o

This opens new venues. Pretty good for early versions. :) Is the sandy interior of the heavy car set in stone? It looks a tad odd to me. Of course, it's WIP.

Lol, guys, WIP means Work In Progress. :P Meaning, since every object here seems to be almost a solid color, that he JUST started and pretty much just put down the base color. Everything will NOT be this color...lol. :P

Man, Im excited about desert PLA battles though, just need the maps for it I guess :)

AFAIK , there is not desert patterns in use for PLA vehicles IRL.

they use a multicamo, withc mean that theyr are not completaly green or completaly tan , but a mix of them .

Nice :)

I'm sure if there was a major war in the deserts, the PLA will adapt a formal desert camo. However, as of right now China doesn't widely use desert camo for their vehicles, if you look at pictures of their military exercises in desert areas, they use their tan/green camo.

IMO the more realistic skin would be a really dirtied up EA vanilla skin or current skin.

Edit:
Ahhh... Sicario beat me to it

Now that I think about it, I might as well just sand up the current skins, perhaps tinting them from the lime green to something browner, yet retaining the green feel.

Back to the drawing board, cheers for the feedback

Nice Work :)

The chopper could have used the current or vanilla skin IMO, it's not going to get very dusty from flying around. The other vehicle skins are all very nice, but the green needs to show a little more.

the APC skin in the VBF2 was fairly dirtied up already so it doesn't need too much dirt.
