IEDs

Post by aut0general »

ok does anyone think that the IEDs in game are a little noticable...well wut if they looked like a box or bag. Also you could put a static or dynamic bag or box that looks like the IED (but isnt) all around the map so that The brits would have to be cautious about every little box or bag they cam across (just like in real life)

There was once talk about how you could have commander/SL placed rocks and small objects similar to undergrowth, and then that would allow the INS to place the current IED under that object. Kinda like now how you can place them inside the undergrowth rocks. that'd be good enough in my opinion.

i say make it like FH2's mines, you can place an IED and then you have a bag or box also in your inventory that you can place on it, or spread it around without IEDs to scare the Brits of Americans. (I think i just resuggested aut0general's suggestion lol)

I look for sneaky places to hide, one of my favourites is to place it under parked cars and wait for people to come close to.

I'd like the IED to be less obvious as well, but when was the last time a brit vehicle actually spotted one of ur IEDs?

I agree with this suggestion. IEDs need to be a bit more noticeable, allowing experienced tank crews to steer clear of suspicious areas/items like a trash bag sitting next to the road etc. I think there should be a few different types of IEDs. Mabey some special kits like rpgs, where Insurgents can lay a hidden mortar shell etc. Even going further than that, mabey have a anti personal IED that could be available in the loadout, that has shrapnel placed all around it etc. I think the different types of IEDS could either be a customizable option/Request Kit Function/ Or possibly have it so that when you spawn as a ambusher, you get a random IED loadout, creating a "Uncertainty" of the type of IED you will have available, forcing the insurgents to adapt more.

Give the civilians these little cloaks of mass destruction. Adds teamwork, and gives the civilian something else to do when not fixing cars, healing allies and hooking people up to places.

I disagree. Any mildly experienced player will know good places to set IEDs. I like to stick IEDs against light poles, in overgrowth/undergrowth, and if you ask me, the best spots are in those rocks (that seem to have no collision meshes) you find on roads. It's more than easy enough to conceal your IEDs.

If anything though, I hate how the IEDs are deployed now anyhow. Commonly, IEDs in real life are usually old artillery munitions or bombs wired to blow, which means they would be a lot more bigger and heavier than the small handheld package we have now.

I like the last part of that, the bit were it is uncertain. Not so much the first bit because I think they already are noticeable enough. I think Terranova has the right idea.
