Are there any plans to change how the helicopters handle? Even just the little bird?

I think that in the quest for realism the helicopter flight dynamics should be more realistic. I used to play DC a LOT and the thing I liked most about it was the way the helicopters handled. It was fairly realistic as you could do impressive manoevers just like in real life. My favourite was the little Bird which you could barrel roll... Good for avoiding missles!

I do know what you mean though, you had more control over the tilt of your helicoptor, so the game did less of the work for you (whereas in BF2, the helicoptors are too stable, so any tilting really resolves in a lot of movement).
I think Eve of Destruction for BF1942 had the best scheme-- it had an extremely high learning curve, but a good helicoptor pilot could do good things. You could even sway the whole helicoptor using the arrow keys to dodge a missile, should you see it coming.

Technically we have choppers that can do barrel roll, blackhawk can do it, so is apache (not loaded) not sure if they can do it loaded, the demonstration only showed them doing it while unloaded. Though i'd say ur maintainance crew are going to turn u into their lunch for doing that.
I would ask something though if this is implemented, since we strive for being as close to realism as we can without throwing the gameplay into the sink, is it possible to model the weapon system in the gunships closer to real life as well?
for instance, the cobra's m197 gatling cannon shell effect should be close to what the havoc's 30 mm cannon shell does in the game. They also need a proper targetting system, plus the imaging camera aid, because currently engaging the enemy with the cannon at long range is relatively hard. For balance sake, we can make the cannon less accurate in full burst and what not, but at least the firepower needs to be closer to what it is in real life.

its possibal to hover choppers upside down in real life.... (thou i dont know if the chopper was loaded if it would have a effect or not)
but i wouldnt flip a blackhawk or littlebird in real life, the guys would all fall out
DC have unrealistic chopper controls. vBF2 is quite alot like real life choppers but alot easier i must say. BFv was just a joke for choppers, they made them so god dam easy. never played EOD. PRMM has tryed to make there choppers much harder to control, but this im sorry isnt that relistic. Choppers do not wait for 3 secs then drop like a stone when you ask them to go down. and lots of things like that you have got wrong im sorry to say.
I would really like you devs to get some real combat chopper and jet pilots to acvise you about them and how they really fly ect

you could perhaps "make" the choppers that way, that when you fly without "giving gas" the chopper will "slowly" decend but you can still land normaly (thats how emergency landings are done if your motor stops working)
aaaand if youre looking for a tricky chopper that is able to do some fancy manuveurs, implement the tiger XD

how the chopper hovers up and down is the angle of the top blade is changed. You do not give the engine "more gas" as such. In fact while flying the chopper most of the time the engine stays at the same RPMs and then all that is done to change the hight of the chopper and the direction is just by slanding the blades at diffrent angles and diffrent directions. If you want to chopper to hover up, you just do that on your controls and the blades of the chopper will change the angle to produce more lift. If you want them to go down they will do the 100% oppsit to produce lift, the opisit way up. This is why choppers can hover upside down as if you tweak them enouth so that you can put the down lift to proudue a hell of alot of lift, you can turn your chopper on its head and hover it.

Real life choppers (not R/C) would not be able to handle the negetave stress on the rotors to hover upside down, They simply were not designed for it, Barrel rolls and loops are possible because you are still generating lift in the same direction durring the whole maneuver. You also have the weight issue, the rotors are on the top of the aircraft to "lift" the machine. Immagine a 20 some odd ton vehicle being suspended by a 4''-6'' rotor mast (I have no idea on the diameter of the rotor mast just a guess) easy enough, but then flip it upside down and try to ballance that weitght on the same mast that it wasnt designed for, pretty sure something will snap. You would also have the main rotors pulling the air from the tail rotor and would loose the responsiveness of the tail rotor.
I've never heard of or seen a piloted rotary wing aircraft hovering upsidedown.

I could see it possible of it was designed more for it, but hellicopters are not ment to fly upside down :d uh:
