Basrah was never really a particularly teamwork centric map, tbh. All the versions have been flawed in some way. Its a nice map to introduce people to, and anyone who actually likes PR gameplay will think "ooh.. thats cool" and then start trying the other maps.

And if it wasn't like that, there wouldn't be any fun in taking a tourney squad pubbing with on there so we can pwn noobs with our RPG barrages. :p
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

Actually, this pretty much happens on every map I play. :(

Thank god for the PRT and clan scrims.

There are still Basrah 24 Servers? thought they where gone with 0.5 :? ??:

But problem with Basrah we have on all Ins maps. Lots of guys are just to stupid to play such maps.

I really dont like that map. Almost everytime i SL, no one listens to me. On the rare chance that i do get a good squad the enemy team is at main TKing for the merlin.

Basrah just isn't worth loading.

big problem is none of the big servers like tactical gamer have basra or any ins map on rotation, all you have left is the crappy battlearena 24/7 server which crashes after each round meaning the game always start empty and gradually fills up leaving no time to organise anything.

Thors server seems alright...

But anyway - Basrah started sucking when it wasn't easily available on full/GOOD servers. When it tanked in .6, TG ran it occasionally on PW nights. When it was fixed, it was more a "request" map then anything else.

Basrah is more of a treat.

Archer... Archer wouldnt play well without a well regulated server, IMO. It'll probably be a PW event when it's fixed.

Plus, I can't say the admin team at TBA Basrah was fair or balanced...

People who play Basrah more than once a week aren't really top quality - meaining: if you're constantly playing Basrah you're playing lonewolfing extraordinaire map, where teamwork is secondary to repeatedly dying.

Wrong. Tactics & Teamwork ( [T&T] ) have Basrah at the start of the map rotation, and Op Archer will be back in as soon as it doesn't cause so many crashes.

T&T host the UK's #1 PR server, according to gamemonitor.com.

I don't know I haven't actually played PR in about 2 weeks (due to time constraints) but I will generally agree that the Brits suck *** pretty much 70% of the time when I've played. It kinda proves my theory that noobs will be attracted to "cool equipment" as their primary decision making process for what team they want to be on. As a consequence they make the worst possible use of such equipment. I'm not sure how you fix 'stupid' but if someone can figure it out one day they should get a medal.

I do think though that the Brits could use some loadout changes. The land rovers while cool don't fit with being used in a known hostile area. IRL you think some idiot is going to cruise around a war zone in a glorified jeep? Well if he's suicidal sure. Also remove one of those scimitars and replace with another bradley. Why? bradley holds passengers. Additionally the challenger....I think it should be made much more tough because IRL I believe it would take a massive amount of rpg 7 hits before it finally gave up the ghost. This would make the tank much more fearsome and even a **** noob could last a reasonable amount of time in it simply because it'd be so tough.

Also finally Basra needs a cobra. I understand it was taken out due to easy cache killing but how about relocate the caches to protected areas immune from helo attack (basements, indestructable buildings etc).

Will admit the brits never do anything, the SL I had yesterday was a guy who got his rocks off of jihading. I joined a squad with some 130thPz guys, and they were great, me and one other guy were a civilian, and there were guys on a roof somewhere watching us, and we starrt throwing rocks at some brits to get htem to chase, and they would run out of cover to "arrest" us, only to get mowed down by a machine gun.
But otehr than that, the players make it terrible

i think if you just put fast ropes on the merlin..... :D

lol but it is soo rewarding when you get a good squad, but The BattleArena 24/7 Insurgency just ruins Basrah as any time of day some noob can go on it and just ruin the map for everyone, T&T have it right IMO, start with it, then get the AASv2 maps on!

I have plenty of good games on Basrah. The British are supposed to be be teamwork oriented on this map while the Insurgents not teamwork oriented and more hit and run. The problem with this map is not the setup, its the server crashes. Archer is the best insurgent map IMO, but that crashes too.
