Thanks for all the praise
I've been working hard tonight on the Village trying to get it looking somewhere near, and also completing the Chinese main
(and when i say completed i mean its nearly finished but I'll more than likely change something in it soon
)
I'll put up some screenies when i get back from work tomorrow night.

Smeg: Fuzz commands a lot and promotes good teamwork, db flips vehicles, Bosco is an all-round nub, Outlawz is an SP whore, Nickbond is a friggin ninja and Rhino gets kicked for being a n00b.

Nice... You could try to make the "bases" something more temporary. Usually most maps have these fortified bases with hescos, bunkers and stuff, but your map could be different, with some kind of temporary setting.
Actually doesn't need to be a "main base" you know... make it like a troop convoy just got to the area by the road or something.
I already like how you did something like that with the tents somewhere in the map, was just thinking it could be like that for all control points. I don't know, just a suggestion...

Well here the screenies i promised

^ the above statics haven't been light mapped etc.
and the village update with the added help of Zing the local gardener,

in hindsight i shouldn't have given him the amount of compost as i did

Im gonna suggest you remove the static chairs inside that tent, or at least all but like 4... they just take up space and really itd look fine without it. I had a mosque with a ton of benches and wasa told to take it out
Like IronTaxi always bashes into my thick skull "Less is most always more"
looking great though. All these great new maps are making me want to start a new map with what I've learned and seen... *sigh*

Nick, I would suggest some variant in the ground colors inside the village. Right now it looks too much the same. Some muddy paths or puddles.
The bushes next to walls are very nice, but all around buildings maybe too much imo. There could be some, but maybe try taking some out as they look all the same. It's just my opinion though, keep it up.

In regards to the 'nilla feel of buildings and such that Fuzzhead and paco have mentioned. Has anyone put any work/ thoughts into destructible structures for the far east? Some of the middle-east maps would only be half as fun without them.
Destructible structures for 2x fun and unpredictable insertions of troops into fortified locations. Wait for Sangin and see what I mean...

I kind of agree. The Temple and Mosque statics are so overused it gets repetitive. Qwai River, OGT, Qinling, Sunset City all have one, and most of them have or used to have a CP centered around it.. At the very least, reskin the Temple a bit to make it look somewhat different. But I think overall, it would be nice to see some new statics for China and Eastern Asia (Especially destroyable ones).paco wrote:Wow the map is gorgeous. Could you please keep the temples and other "this-is-China-by-EA(tm)" pagoda type statics out? Just seeing them makes PR taste vanilla![]()
