well we were talking about USMC so it seemed to me he was talking about hte same marines.

The British army is mainly from England i guess. Im not really sure how the Brits are orginized with armies if it is all the same army or it's separeted for every country(England, Scotland, Ireland and Welsh).
In PR i notice that the Brits skins have an England flag on the sholder so i guess they are separeted armies.

The British Army is formed over the whole United Kingdom (UK), this includes England, Scotland, North Ireland, Wales etc.

In PR The brits have a Union Jack on there shoulder, which represents the UK:

The English Flag, (not "England flag") is the saint gorge cross, which is also part of the union jack.

The British also have Marines, known as "Royal Marines" which is part of the Royal Navy, which use more or less the same equipment as the British Army with a few expectations which are mainly for amphibious assaults, like the Viking.

I hope that clears up some stuff for you, try doing a little googling might help but if you dont know, dont say you know or talk like you know.

Much like the British, the US Marines actually are administratively part of the Department of the US Navy. That is, we are part of the Navy, not the US Army. Other than that, US Marines operate as a seperate branch of the Department of Defense (DoD) with it's own officers and command structure.

The BBC website disregards the term "union flag" because of its "great potential for confusion", preferring union jack (in lower case)

it can be used either way, only important to call it a union jack when its used in the maritime context.

My question is are the devs using a particular unit as a base for designing the US Army, or taking a cross section from the entire branch? e.g. rangers.

That is enough out of you. To answer your question (because you seem like a persistant one), R-CONs are hand selected because of their contributions to the PR mod. Alot of these contributions are not made public, because it would take much work posting an announcement every time a new AA placement or small tweak was made. Many of these "small tweaks" are actually very important, keep the game running smoothly, and were made by none other than R-CONs. In addition to that, he moderates the forums, which is proof before your very eyes.

So Raven, you can stop your attack on Okita because personally, man, it's pointless, not worth it, and will probably get you banned from the forums. I'm sure Okita has made this share of contributions and doesn't need you questioning if he deserves it or not.

He made the map that nobody even play it because its not worth it. Heck, I don't even like it considering how unrealistic it is and thought it was a bad design. But if you're just going to make him an R-CON because of that reason, then you should also make other people who actually contributed an ideas that are actually in the game an R-CON. Oh and just because you're an R-CON, it doesn't mean that you're allow to show how much power you have at dictating other members because you're not immune to anyone comments.

To the direct above... what version are you playing? The one from like...6 months ago? The last public release was a LONG time ago. nobody plays it because it isn't released.

I'll be the first to tell you its gotten a lot of hands on time by various amazing people [DrRank, IronTaxi, Rhino, Fuzzhead] since it was last updated in the public forums.

To be honest, I don't know why I was chosen to be part of such an amazing mod team. I honestly ask myself every time I log in to the forums. A few years ago this was just a dream. Im not even kidding. I'd get quoted by Eggman, Fuzzhead, Rhino, etc and think I had just had a conversation with God.

I started making that map as a fun project, and figured Id better put it on the forums for feedback. All in fun, learn the editor. Next thing you know some people took interest. Hell, I'll be the first to tell you that I am really not that good at mapping. I see all these new maps and I feel self conscious.

I'm sorry you feel the need to be so disrespectful when I don't have anything against you. I certainly hope you'd be considerate to the people on this forum...

I'm a CON and part[read:full] time MOD because I love Project Reality. I love the forums, and I love the team. I'm worried that my full year absence will put me completely out of the loop.

So, really, my only thing to ask back is, if you are so full of anger, why are you a member here?

I wont be the one to ban you, because I hope you do, in fact, return. :shrug:

I think he played one of the really early beats before OkitaMakoto became a R-CON.

if you guys really want a reason for why he became a R-CON, its quite simple, his map and his mapping skills have potential to be really good, when we see any talent like that, that takes well to feedback and shows a degree of improvement over a course of time, with also dedication to there work, we feel that ppl like this can become R-CONs. His map has come a very long way since you guys last saw it, and if your going to judge a guy by a open beta that was posted like 5 months ago or something, then you have some issues.

Thou like i said before, Its none of your business, the only reason why im telling you is so you can shut up before you get banned for disrespect towards a team member.
