I think the problem with the large maps are that they have too many vehicles and jets in, and also lack the designed required to play AAS properly.
We need more large maps with a mixture of jets/choppers and urban areas. So everyone can enjoy them to some extent.
I'm not against air vehicles and tanks. I prefer to go on foot, and was becoming a decent pilot in vanilla before the 1.2 patch, lol. Why play BF2 if you don't wanna see tanks and jets. BF2 to some extent offers us a total combined war experience, Air and ground forces working together. But currently, the map design on vanilla levels are quite awful.

So am I, but they just get boring after a while. Seeing the same middle eastern architecture sends me to sleep, and theres no real originality in it. We need more Chinese citiesArchEnemy203 wrote:Im all for the urban and smaller infantry based maps![]()
The more realistic maps the better. Sure we like CQB, fighting on rooftops and inside apartment buildings. But real soldiers were prefer NOT to fight in urban areas, as theres so many places to be shot from. We need real life locations and levels based on former operations.

I think foot slogger maps are the best but armoured vehicals and jeeps are a must have - its why we all purchest BF2.
Attack helicopters should be limited depending on the map size. As they are rerly anoying when they rocket troops instead of vehicals.
Attack choppers are meant to take out armour and hard positions

I would actually like to see a urban map with the kind of architecture like that on the Chinese main on Songhua Stalemate if you know what I am talking about.
For now, can we at least get the large 32 player maps like Dragon Valley and the light made 16 player versions? They are really off balance especially Dragon Valley since the US never wins even with teamwork unless the enemy is horribly, horribly, weak. Same goes with Kubra Dam which is a ring around the rosy, and Fushe Pass, and the number of APCs on Songhua Stalemate.
Can any admin of GloryHoundz and other servers change these features since there seems to be a general agreement that these maps are horrible when they are this big especially with only 40 people on them. 40 people is better suited to 16 ones with the vehicles having longer respawn times and the like. You can tell something needs to be done by the amount of support for vote maps on the servers.
