Out of Bounds Rally Points
I just wanted to express my disapproval/disgust at some unsportsmanlike behaviour i am starting to see (again).
It was an affliction of some early versions of PR, and combined with some of the prev EJOD out of bounds exploits this was something i thought has disappeared. Over the weekend i saw two instances of using out of bounds rally points, and when i looked it was the same squad leader both times. I was annoyed at him enough that i left the squad he was in.
Clearly spawning at an out of bounds rally point gives you little to no time to request a kit, so why he does it i don't know.
Personally i'll be approaching the admins next time i see it done.
My question was "those out of bounds rally points are a bad idea mate, and aren't really in the spirit of the game", his reply was something along the lines of "well there is nothing in the rules and nothing stopping me doing it so i will so there.."
It doesn't give you much of an advantage against decent players, but i wanted to share my irritation of this practice and see what support there is for trying to stamp it out as well as ideas for preventing it.
Perhaps admins can be more specific about saying "exploiting will get you banned"
I know someone was complaining before about the short out of bounds timer on some maps. I say, good thing too.

I dont see it as a problem, you as a squad leader are only hurting your own team. So unless there is a reason it was placed out side, as in this little hill is just outside it then fine, your only hurting your own team.
Plus I've taken one for the team and ran in to destroy one a few time, STEP UP SOLIDER! Your not going to live forever.
Fix it, dont fix it, its not a big problem.

Had that problem yesterday in ghost train north from temple. The enemy squad had set up a RP out of bounds and it was pure luck that I saw it. Fortunally I was able to knife it without getting hurt but for new players it can be confusing because they don't know to keep an eye on the area out of bounds.
If it's right or wrong I can't really decide but maybe we should consider if its fair for new players...

i've seen a few squad leaders place rallies out of bounds its a good thing i stick to the game and place em in hiding places like behind rocks or something like that...i also reckon its not just rally points, i bet some people might've found a way to stay in the out of bounds areas without dying..basically exploiting the game...what i would do is...make the out of bounds area so when you really step inside the out of bounds area you die instantly...that would stop people trying to place Rallies...in the no go area..sorted =D

Not sorted, I've accidentally gone out of bounds many many times in planes and vehicles and it would really suck if you died instantly.Sturnn wrote:i've seen a few squad leaders place rallies out of bounds its a good thing i stick to the game and place em in hiding places like behind rocks or something like that...i also reckon its not just rally points, i bet some people might've found a way to stay in the out of bounds areas without dying..basically exploiting the game...what i would do is...make the out of bounds area so when you really step inside the out of bounds area you die instantly...that would stop people trying to place Rallies...in the no go area..sorted =D

the reason people do it is because ppl dont go looking in the out of bounds areas for RPs, but its gay for your squad spawning on it also. I remember a common tactic on Muttrah v1 was to put a RP round the back of a warehouse building, slightly out of bounds, RPs where hardly ever destroyed there even if the enemy fully well knew you where coming from that area.

I don't really have a problem with it. It gives you less time to grab a kit and move away.
And as Rhino says, people put them out of bounds, because you normally don't go there.
That way, your RP is more hidden. I don't find it annoying when people do it. It's just an extra challenge
