Proportional Vehicle Spawn

Hey everyone,

We currently have proportional weapon spawn (1 sniper rifle per 16 players per team, etc)

Why not have proportional vehicles spawns too? How many times have you joined a server on Jabal at the start of the evening where there're 16 people on the server, and the US has 3 seperate huey squads all in the air?

Spawning vehicles via proportion would encourage more tactical play than arsing around in vehicles, and make it a little more fair (2 v 1 Al Basra; Challenger vs. Insurgent ;) )

Thoughts?

I like the idea honestly, keep from having 2 cobras in the air on a team with 6 players
I think this is a mapping function though, not sure if its possible to do it.

I agree. Could even go with vehicles in general:

Ex. 8 players- Light transport only

16 players- APC, TOW HMMWV
24- Light Trans Helos/Light Atk
32- Transport Helos, a few tanks
48- More tanks, AAVs
64- Jets

I think they would if they could. There is a script that loads the right size map to match the amount of players at map start but Im not sure if any server uses anything like that

Um ok let me explain:

-Someone starts server
-Server loads map
-People join server

I think that vehicle spawn could be linked to players on the server, but if someone wants to practice flying on a small/local server or just mess around they can't really. The vehicles are usually mirror balanced as far as choppers and jets go, cept for Oman, and thats not gonna be around much longer if I had to guess. If theres like 10 people on a server just tell people you don't want to start shooting till x number of people show up, then have at em.

CAS my point being the opposite; just because there's 8 people on the server doesn't mean we can't begin the game. Instead we always end up with 2 people working in a squad, and the other 2 arsing around in choppers :P

And Mora. Your comment kinda nullifies the purpose of a suggestion forum.

There is a training minimod, which is much better for trying stuff out.

I agree with the OP, but it would take alot of testing to get the asymmetrical maps in gear- so effort put in to this would be at the dev's discretion.

I also find it annoying when you have enough guys on a team for a reasonably sized squad, yet two of em just jump in the attack helo in a locked squad.

this idea goes i the direction of dynamic maps as it was originaly planed for bf2 that the mapsizes change ingame
