crackling sound with new gfx card

Post by gazzthompson »

installed new gfx card, was a ATI Radeon X1950 Pro

it worked , but when ingame i get a weird crackling noise, its only when ingame and when not loading, so when loading map or start up BSS thing it dosnt crackle, but when ingame it dose. also when i alt tab it dose not crackle and dose the same in other games.

any ideas ?

What's your soundcard and motherboard chipset.

I have huge problems with Audigy SE + VIA K7V600 chipset combination (crackling sound, with newest drivers huge performance loss).

Hm, if it's integrated, than it shouldn't be the problem.

What have you done since you replaced the graphic card?

Did you try messing with the ingame sound settings (sound quality, software/hardware rendering, EAX off/on)?

Try to mess up with the sound settings to find out what's wrong.

BTW, what was your previous card? Did you change drivers?
