2 small suggestions.

Post by Dempsey »

1.

I've died so many times because of this, its damn frustrating. When you crouch, and go to standing position, you can not immedietly go back to a prone position for a second or so... where as in reality, you drop like a bag of shhh... especially if there is a hurl of bullets coming towards you from the other side of the hill, But in this case, your left standing up right, and you die.

2.

Grenades... I like the fact you have given throwing nades variables.... But in some cases its just stupid... I have walked and thrown a grenade before, and it has being very far of target, 20ft even... You should be able to run and throw a grenade faily accurately, it isnt made out of paper.

While we're on small frustrating problems, may I add not being able to shoot after jumping over a wall is incredibly annoying too :)

Please read what i said without getting your knikers in a twist.

Prone faster....

Rather standing upright and being peppered by MG fire, soldiers dont have arthritis.

Spam nades, where did you get that from? but anyway...

Its realism, in house filled with troops, your going to 'spam' nades into that house to minamise threat to you or friendly soldiers, so, whos fault is it if you die in that house?

Realism hurts.

I think what he suggested is that the model could go prone from crouch position without passing through the standing position. But i think it's impossible to do cause of BF2 engine's limitations.

Yeah, granades in 0.75 sucks, im reffering to flying trajectory, sometimes it looks like granade hits invisible roof, liked the 0.7 grandes more.

realism hurts lol...

Try walking down the street and jump a foot in the air and land on your chest. Pretty painful huh? Now do it while holding an object in your hands. Have any trouble breaking your fall with your elbows? Now tape 5 pound plates of ceramic to your vitals, put on a football helmet, and tie a small child around your waist, which is about the weight of water, grenades, food, and ammo. 3... 2... 1... and JUMP. Great so I'll come visit you in the hospital.

Realism hurts? That depends if you stay concious.

rofl, epic...

also the nades are fine, just dont run jump and throw, thats when the nades are 20ft off your target, just stop for about a second and throw, and your nade will be fine

Haha come on, are you made of china? Its not that hard to fall over. Hes not talking about instaproning while jumping, he is asking to be able to get down immediately after standing up. Which, when wearing 'the weight of a small child', is often easier than remaining upright. It has nothing to do with shattering your elbows and taping up your balls....

And I am saying it would be nice to able to shoot after jumping over a two foot wall, if of course I havent died from the massive impact of landing on my feet from such an enormous height of course....

You're not a fan of Bear Grylls are you CAS? :)

My thoughts, situation awareness: :p

As the term implies, situation awareness refers to ‘awareness’ of the ‘situation.’ "Situation awareness" is the correct term for the field of study that concerns the knowledge and understanding of the environment that is critical to those who need to make decisions in complex areas such as aviation, air traffic control, driving, power plant operations, and military command and control.

they have been changed for the better, If you want to toss a grenade farther go and grab a grenade launcher and enjoy.

If a soldier in any country can fire a gun with decent accuracy after jumping or even running i'm shocked. It

Look, all I know is that landing chest-down in football equipment, which is made for agility and movement, hurts like hell, and doing it repeatedly is very tiring. In pr people go prone after jumping slightly, and jumping even farther in a dive while running. Now try landing on your elbows just from a stand. Now from a walk, then run, then running jump the way it is now.

Going prone should be a great way to take you out of the fight, as getting up means a 5 to 15 second procedure depending on if you have a burgeon on, and even then you may need help to get upright. all the while being unable to return fire.

And while I don't know what your sports background is, but no soldiers are not made of china, they are made from calcium, protien, and screaming. And repeatedly hitting the ground while looking through a scope regardless of the surface and not having to break your fall will result in broken ribs and bleeding tounges.

Heres my point. Whatever unrealistic disadvantages there are with going prone, the current unrealistic advantages more than make up for it.

-"Prone diving" isn't all that hard actually, had some Foreign Legion Engineers with us while on a large scale training mission and what they do is, when standing, they just flex(Can't think of the correct word right now) all their muscles and fall like a log (Like this: | / __ ). You have to practice a bit though because you have to land with your chest, elbows and knees simultaneous so as to spread out the impact(Not to be done on hard surfaces though ;) ). I tried it a bit but always hurt my elbows, it's pretty hard getting past that mental block. Anyway, you get great accuracy all the way down to the impact and then a second later again.
-And shooting after jumping is CS ****, we tried that out as well(Without live ammo of course) because we had a CS player in our company and who doesn't like picking on CS players?
