Team points for Laseing!
So... after me thinking about it, someone else managed to mention it in the same game:
We receive nothing for lasing tagets. And since most people are after the points, why would they do it when they could take it out at a later time?
Points should be given (teamwork points) for lasing targets (that die, of course)
People dont lase things. Maybe this is the reason =)
Points for lasing= Yay!

Hmm, I believe people don't laser targets because they don't know how. Had a round of Kashan last night, I was Commander, and the Havoc squad, Docs_Advocate and IRS_Agent needed laser targets. I did what I could to get CAS targets for the heli, but the SLs usually weren't doing it right. They were using the T comm rose and Lasing Target. It should have been Request Close Air Support, so the request would go to me, and I would accept it.
But if you get points for something, people will want to do it. They want recognition for doing a job. Engineers don't waste 5 minutes repairing a bridge if they don't get points for all that work.

I think the kind of person who plays for points will sure as hell not get the points by lasing or fixing.
I am the kind of person who likes to fix things and sure as hell dont do them for points.

Though I'd have to say that points are probably the last thing I'd worry about in PR, it actually might encourage those that do play for points to break out the G.L.T.D and start shooting some lasers.Ghost1800 wrote:what server do you normally play on? If there are pilots up who know how to use laser guided ordinance I can mark targets and guide them in.
Ghost is my beloved A-10 Spotter, you'd be busting tanks with AGM-65s in no time if you had him in your squad.

Good point. The commander role can rake in the points if played properly, but most avoid the tedious task.ironcomatose wrote:I think the kind of person who plays for points will sure as hell not get the points by lasing or fixing.

Imagine in vBF2, players do not receive points for reviving or healing allies. You'll be seeing the respawn screen all the time as they jump past with G36Es a blazing.
