Yes this would be a solution who everyone could life with.

But at the moment its just a bad joke. I used nades allways as roomcleaners, instead of runing into the room like rambo and hope that i dont get killed. But now i have to make it like rambo. Throw the Grenade and go immediately after the explosion in, with the hope that the enemys are suppressed ( the only good thing about the 0,75 nades)
This rambotactics cant be in the sense of the devs :? ??:

I say lessen the amount of grenades people have, but increase the blast radius. Less spam and effectiveness close to real life are met. But I'm sure someone will think of a better idea. :mrgreen:

Yep, kill radius in real life is something around 5-6 meters too...

So, I tested this ingame:
I went to a flag, and threw a ammo bag on it (just too see exactly where the flag is), and then I looked at the flag-marker (meters) while I walked backwards.
- When I was standing 4m away from the flag, I threw a grenade on the flag (on top of the ammo bag). I was killed instantly :D
Then I tried 5 and 6 meters, but I did not get killed (I did get hurt though)..

But then again, Im not sure if the meters ingame is correct etc...

And since I have been trying the Hand Grenades for a while, yes - I also think they should be a little bit more powerful..

If they should be more powerful, maybe they should be something between how it was in v0.7 and how it is in v0.75? :D What do you think about that?

Well I've though about this and I think this would be the best solution (I assume PR has a modyfied 100 point health system so I'll base the damage on that).

Kill Radius: 0m-5m
Heavy Damage Radius (70 damage): 6m-15m
Moderate Damage Radius (35 damage): 16m-25m

The problem I see with this is grenediers being overpowered but this could be fixed by having only 3 grenedier kits.

Grenades are fine. If you threw one inside that building and half of the squad was right next to the door, than they would die, but the other half would survive because they were shielded by the bodies of the others. Grenades need to be lessoned IMO because they are still too plentiful. Damage is fine, just account for walls, corners, etc.

I have thrown one inside the center of a whole squad and killed them all. Same with GL.

what about less grenades per person? surely that would stop the spamming, but if you make them more powerful, make them more useful and they cant just be thrown at random

Now, i havent trolled through, what i guess is rambling arguments.

But, if you have used a hand grenade you will realise how pathetic they are... and are only truly effective against bunched infantry inside buildings... although they do put the shock through ya.

...and grenades in modern warefare are used thoroughly in urban environments, clearing rooms etc. So you can stop moaning about people 'spamming them'

But that's because the modern grenade is a whole different ball of rice compared to grenades in a different time. The F1 is designed to send fragments further than you can throw it.

Yup, me and EG here discovered it's a "defensive grenade" that's designed to be hurled from behind cover only.

I set about finding the exact specifications you'd need on the grenade to make it wound at maximum throwable distance, but it was rather tricky and never had time to test it.

Making the big old F1 hurt the guy who threw it when used out in the open would certainly reduce grenade spam...

hehe. the amounts of TKs by such a nade would be awesome methinks :D

but i agree on the weakliness of the nades. but maybe just put in greater suppression so as not to get probs with spam?

I would just say that 'nades don't need more killing power, but stunning power. Longer supression effect.

What about having a outer radius of the grenade explosion that causes the near death, slow walking black & white effect for a certain about of time. This could represent shellshock & also it would be exceptionally usefull for cqc.

I like the idea above but it also depends on the type of grenade.

The point was that it was a small room and none of them died from 2 grenades.

This is the best idea so far and the most realistic. F1 grenade - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The distance the grenade can be thrown is estimated at 30-45 meters. The radius of the shrapnel dispersion is up to 200 meters (effective radius is about 30 meters, by some sources ).

This is just the insurgent and MEC grenades right now though. I think each grenade should be set to it's real-life kill radius.

It's only used for nuking someone who is running out in the open, simply because it's more powerfull and easier to hit with than a normal weapon, that's how the noobs use it. Remember how it was in Vanilla BF2? Do you want that back?

Okay, bump for the topic. Grenades need more splash and more power, especially grenades fired from a grenade launcher.
