I can't fly.

But I do love providing the security for my teams helos. Let me tell you, when a Huey comes in for a pickup in a hot zone, those MEC guys rarely expect to get hit with hail of bullets.

Keep their heads down, get the guys on board, clear the pilot to go and change belts.

But I still want a GPMG on there.
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

I sincerely hope that the map chooses to employ Blackhawks and not that damn Huey. Although I have gotten over the lag issue with the Huey, I will still choose the Blackhawk anyday. This may change if the Huey is outfitted with weapons (and not the M60 please), but even then, I'm not sure if I could turn away from that beautiful Blackhawk.

The way the blackhawk flies in PR, I would rather fly half a J-10 to pick them up,

<3 Huey

I understand Ghost. Most people are always tripping off on the UH-1N Iroquois "Huey" hype. It's an old helicopter, not even armed at this time, twice as slow, and not even armored enough to partially make up for the loss. Only reason why people truely like it is because of the past stories that went with them and the generally appealing look of it.

The SH-60 Seahawk is superior helicopter, only downfall is that it is slightly more tempermental when it comes to taking hits and flying is slightly unstable. (Then again, if your a good pilot you shouldn't have a reason to be getting shot at to begin with.) Other than that, it makes up with it in potential firepower and speed. Can't stress the importance of speed when it comes to getting out of dodge with enemy AA. You may not outrun the missle, but you can use the speed to quickly evade the lock.

However, the most agravating thing I see to this day is PR's switch from U.S.M.C. to British for the Al-Basrah map. Probably the only map where a SH-60 Seahawk can most likely get away with using it's miniguns in a practical fashion against technicals and infantry. But instead we're stuck with a HC3 Merlin. Oh well, wasn't my idea. :? ??:

On topic: ^^
Good transport pilots mean winning or losing in maps such as Kashan, Qinling, Jabal and Qwai.
Good tank/chopter crews win whose two maps, not transport pilots ;)

if you use your choppers will on qinling it can easily turn the tide of the war. Good placement of recon squads, AT, SF etc squads round the map to hit the enemy behind there lines can really damage the enemys momentum :D

I believe I have solved the Lack of GPMG issue on the Huey
Took my C6 Model I made for the CF mod and turned it into an M240D for aircraft use. I only rigged up a quick and shitty mount on the chopper to see what it would look like. The helicopter model is from an old mod I used to work on.

I think placing GPMG's on the Huey would make them a bit less vulnerable especially durring landing and takeoff at LZ's 8-)
