shot gun's use?

i personally dont c a use for the slug shot in the shot gun..i heard it can break stuff..but i havent found realluy anything to break...what stuff are destructable w/ the shot gun???...im not sugesting taking it out...just asking how i should use it

It's going to be used for door breaching. So far you can use it to destroy wooden planks, like the one blocking that "sewer" tunnel at the industrial area of Basrah.

Yup, and sometimes you see gates in F6 in Basrah, you cna shoot them too.

Maps with doors will come afaik. And i always loved the idea of a shotgun for door-breaching.

Some fences can be destroyed. The new white metal ones that have no razorwire on low gfx settings, and the brown metal siding fence, both found on Basrah, need one hit to destroy them.

Pretty handy tool. It'd usually take a very loud and suppressing grenade to destroy a fence.

Shotguns are a current urban door breaching weapon that is used by most armies in Iraq. It is used for quick breaching to help save lives. In PR its used as a breaching weapon and a CQB weapon.

Nice CQB weapon in jungle maps! On OGT theres been a few times when I've just run across the river, come up the riverbank the other side and taken out upto 4 enemies with the shotgun, having to reload once. Once you figure out where it fires, it's a terror weapon as you blow enemy away at close range whilst moving through them at speed

true its great so when your rifle runs out and your in CQB u flip and kill then reload. Saves you the 30 sec spawn time. ;D

All we need is buck shot, really. And an aiming reticule wouldn't hurt.

Oh yeah... Buck shot.. I'd like to have that back, it made the weapon even better than it is now. Only thing is, it would need to me coded so that you can switch fires modes to switch between Slug and Buck, and not have to switch to different weapons, because it'd take another slot in the kit and that's not good for an engineer (Meaning removing one of his toolls like mines or ropes = no no)

That's impossible, but it would be perfect. However, as it is, the door breacher (*cough* shotgun *cough*) is less than useful, more than useless; I've capped some people with it, but the only time I found a door/plank/gate worth blowing, there wasn't even an engineer around to knock it down!

That said, a buck shot 'door breacher' with proper irons (WIP for ages, I believe, correct me if I'm wrong) along with the assault rifle wouldn't be too overpowered. If you played 0.6, you'll know exactly how inaccurate buck shot was - so inaccurate that anyone with his AR out would just light the shotgun-wielding engineer up without a hassle from any distance greater than arm's length.

Its there because it looks bad *** to whip out a shottie and start trying to cap a guy 300m away
