So my team could send a Warrior and 2 Scimitars over to blow the **** out of everything while I snuck in and found the cache. Worked pretty well too.

here's a medal? Please open a school for smacktards so they can learn to be cool players =(

There's no way to measure if the player's lased target got destroyed in a reasonable way, so I'm afraid this suggestion is not possible.

That is hugely disapointing. =/
I do not under stand how that works tho.. since the game can see that said person lased said object (it ATTACHES it to the object) then the pilot locks on, Drops the bomb, leaves, the bomb continues to be locked on, and hits the target directly. The pilot then gets the points.....

BF2 engine= Suckfest?

TBH, the people who do the less than glamorous tasks like this, repairing bridges, sitting in the tanks .50cal etc do so because they know its for the good of the team and they want their team to win. They'd do it even if they got no points at all for it. ..

I'd guess the stats whore types would still try to get their points through more 'fun' things like killing and maiming, regardless of this.
