Frustrating times
Earlier incident: kashan desert,
Engaging a T90 with abrams that im driving – near mountains east of bunkers. The gunner shall remain nameless:
- T90 tries to flank us – i call out his location to gunner and point the frontal armor towards enemy, gunner misses. Enemy hits us.
- Reposition to find t90 distracted by a.wickers m1, i set up a perfect flank shot (halting 20ft from the rear of the enemy tank). “He’s toast” i think to myself.
- Gunner fires. And MISSES??!!! He (somehow) hits the ground to one side of the tank.
- Enemy turret swings around and puts a shot into our front, i keep following as we ‘re on his *** and we’ll reload faster.
- Several seconds later ....“Enemy front – for gods sake shoot! What are you waiting for??” Maybe i didn’t make exactly who the enemy was clear enough because gunner promptly puts a round into a hill 20ft away from the t90 (while at ~50ft range). =|
- By this point t90 has done a 180 turn so i back out of view and im trying to decide whether my gunner has the worst internet connection in the world or was simply quite retarded.
- I try to get a firing position again, keeping sand berm between our tanks constantly calling out the enemy bearing + clock direction to gunner
- Gunner then proceeds to turn turret everywhere but towards the enemy -- including the 6oclock position (while enemy @ 10oclock), something which i said NEVER to do as soon as he got in. So i have the tank commander’s hatch blocking the whole center portion of my screen...
- Excellent. Now im driving blind. Some choice words down voip gets him to shift the turret but still not to where the enemy is.
- Finally got to a position where t90 left side is exposed, the best shot we’re going to get in this fiasco. Call out bearing 150, on our left side, THE LEFT SIDE. where is he? I cant see. SWING YOUR GUN TO THE LEFT!!!! where??
- Meanwhile im watching the t90’s slowly turret turning towards us (GODDAMNIT! ENEMY LEFT SIDE!!)
- BLAM. another hit and the lights and alarms start going off. I reversed, then bailed out. And damn am I pissed off. A tank that should be scrap 5min ago has just knocked us and the other M1 out.
- We’re both cut down by the t90 after bailing.
As time counts down he says over voip (i shit you not): “man there must have been at least two-three tanks out there cos i got like four hits and that last tank we saw wasnt even smoking”.
I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry at that point. He was absolutely clueless (probably because he was admiring the scenery rather than the enemy for most of the fight). I tried to explain the whole fight was with a single tank but he was having none of it.
Sad thing is I had a pick of gunners at main base and I went with this character instead.

Worst moment:
Was on Sunset City in a full squad. One guy goes heavy AT and has no clue how to use it. 3 of us are on the side of a building taking cover and he sticks himself out to AT a jeep.
Well, he has no idea how to use the thing, so it explodes in his face and takes one of our guys with him and injures me so bad that I have the blurry death screen. I use my own bandage to get somewhat better and run to 2 other squad members calling for a medic on VOIP. Our SL has an officer kit, looks at me, sees my guy yell "medic" and turns and runs the other way with his other guy.
I figure he may be out of bandages, and I die. Then I come back and he is still alive. I move with him, he gets shot and throws HIMSELF a bandage.
Thanks a lot, team player. I swore to myself and disconnected, refusing to play with selfish jerks.
Oh, and that heavy AT guy had the rifleman AT kit this time. Glad I disconnected before he fuber'ed his squad again.

Re: Your Worst Experiences
Okay, so it's Thursday evening (May 8th), and I feel like a couple of rounds of PR. The server browser shows me a couple of EU servers that are full (HeroeS and another one), and a couple with 20+ players. So I join one of these (datorbutikken or something Swedish).
The map is Kashan Desert, I'm playing US, and we start off kicking MEC butt!
We had 4 US tanks moving out from the start and taking the Bunkers, and it was all good.
Then everything went down the drain. A couple of guys started flying around in the Havoc (yes, it was Alex and Mora https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f112-tales-pr-frontlines/36170-video-project-reality-hellfire.html)
Everytime an US vehicle was about 500m off base, it got blown up. They could have spawn raped all our vehicles and it wouldn't have made a difference! We have a single guy on the US team that could fly the attack helo, but no gunner with any skills, so no help there!
This is without doubt the worst PR moment I've ever had. The first couple of rounds on PR was hard, but you expected that with a new, realistic game, but last night was ****! Too many nights like that, and I'm not playing PR anymore! If we had 20+ populated servers to choose from, no problem, but if I end up getting owned on the few servers that are populated.. Then PR is not fun anymore!
Nice flying and shooting guys! I wish I had your skills! Too bad you had no opposition, then it might have been a fun round!
Luckily I left the server and joined the HeroeS server and had a great (Kashan Desert again) round as SL for 4-5 other guys! It wasn't my best round ever, but we had a chance to fight back, something I didn't feel like with the Havoc around.
end-of-rant...
Regards,
Steen

Hehe
Yeah well we had much luck on that round, every cobra encasement was a fail because all his hydras missed us everytime
And you probaly make it into my next video

We never died in the havoc by an enemy, i only died ones on foot by a tank shell. And ones we crashed the havoc by connection problem <- that was at the very end.

Re: Your Worst Experiences
Yeah, I know we did bad. I was trying to tell people to stop rushing out whenever a single vehicle spawned, but no luck, so I gave up and left.
Almost got you twice early on the game from my APC, hit you a few times from far off, and you turned tail, but the APC isn't exactly the right vehicle to use against a helo. I got the transport helo that way though!
But.. not sure whether to be proud or not.. If we end up in your next movie!
regards,
Steen

Fools Road: When I go SL on this map, nobody carries rockets or C4.
If you see Drake_3.0 as SL on fools road, expect a "kick from squad" if you dont go C4, ammo, medic or AT.
I'll kick everyone if nobody takes C4!!!!!

Re: Your Worst Experiences
Worst moment of this game was the patch and popularity. The game is dead to me. I can never get a SINGLE decent round/game of PR and I go to a variety of servers.
Teamkills
Bugs
No Commanders
All locked squads
Newbies
People who have to fire the vehicle mounted machine guns every second
Lack of situational awareness amongst players
People who drive into Mines? How the hell do they do it? Drivers - Your job is to look at the round and if you happen to see an enemy call it out. I can understand when mine is hidden but its always in plain sight.

Sorry you had a bad round. I often find myself on a bad team and it sucks, I usually just take a break on AIX.PrivateJson wrote:Yeah, I know we did bad. I was trying to tell people to stop rushing out whenever a single vehicle spawned, but no luck, so I gave up and left.

Unfortunately your AA wasn't being used properly, they weren't looking up I guess. Only time we were close to being in trouble was when one of the two AAVs on south village spotted us. Organized team and things would have been different.
Once we had taken a couple of things down people started telling us where things were sometimes.
I felt sorry when our team was at your last flag. All those cries of baserape, yet it was cappable.
I remember us taking fire and me thinking wtf? So it was your APC.
Gg, well, at least for us.

Well, the problem certainly wasn't you 2 guys being God-like in the Havoc, it was our team being a bunch of Rambo vBF2 players. It felt like that for sure!
Guess I'll have to play SL some more, and kick some grunts into order!
Great game for you guys for sure, hope to meet you out there again, on more even teams though!

They removed the 3D map warning for mines, so you can't see them any more. You can mark them on the map with the huge symbol, but rarely someone does that and even if they do, it still doesn't tell where exactly the mines are.ryan d ale wrote: People who drive into Mines? To be honest I only mine places, where I know an enemy vehicle will come...

I'd say my worst experience is pretty much everytime I play on the insurgent side on Al Basrah.

Re: Your Worst Experiences
My worst was my first. It was militia vs USMC (I think) and I joined half way through the match. The USMC camped the spawn points so every time you spawned, you were dead, and if you managed to get away, the only semi safe haven was a field with high grass. After a bunch of us started hiding there, the USMC pulled back to these ridges around the Farm spawn point and started picking us off one by one. Absolutly terrible, couldn't get anywhere in the match.
Luckily, my next match was Al Basrah Insurgency, which is now my favorite map and game type, so I didn't quit PR immediatly.

Re: Your Worst Experiences
I don't know if it's the worst, but I had an awful time at the Kashan just now. SL mounted another squad's chopper and their minigunner kept firing at me feet as if it was vanilla BF2. Eventually, the SL got what was coming and his chopper crashed, so we drove to the bunker complex. He wanted to drive himself, so the driver got out for him but the SL just drove off and left him behind. When we did get to the bunkers there was constant sniper fire and two Vodnik gunners blasting at us. I asked for covering fire so I could snipe out the gunners. Lo and behold, there was no covering fire to be had. I was killed by the sniper, the machine gunners, and even an RPG as I kept trying to get the squad to do something. Eventually, they let an entire MEC infantry squad to slip past them and start spawn killing us.
That was so aggravating (that squad was the only one available) I quit the server and went to the Ejod. Unfortunately there were no competent English squads. The only English speaking squad had a vanilla-style sniper as the SL.

Re: Your Worst Experiences
Well I really hardly ever have bad experiences, I have been fortunate enough to play with mature SL's and members. The only thing that gets on my nerves is being punished accidental TK's. The other night while playing Bi Ming( I forget what server), on Chinese we were pushing back and holding the British easily, but they were constantly on the counter attack so it was a nice round ... until the British took back Bi Ming. They built up a pretty good force in the village and it took several tries to recapture, the squad I was in finally got to the cap point. With heavy resistance coming in from the British side of the map it was a safe assumption to shoot anything running towards us or so I thought. Halfway through the cap a soldier comes around the slanted house in full sprint, I had only a split second it was him or me. Punished for TK! If the friendly I killed would have been doing is job and staying with his squad and not presenting his self as a hostile this never would have happened, I always make sure who I'm shooting at is an enemy but it was a split second and I made a decision for it. Thanks for the punish 'nilla noob.
