Sure, but after the PRT battle. ;)

Edit: Also, I have been looking, but I can´t find where I have to edit for missile smoke trails?

Thats not concrete, its the road. And theres usually alot of dust/sand on the road. Atleast in that enviroment

Well yes, but it would be the same for all maps with that terrain, so there needs to be a balance. Anway, its a WIP. :P

no I think you will find that in fact both have a effect on it, why otherwise would there be such a setting called effect colour in the map light settings and when you tweak it to bright pink, you have smoke that has quite a big tint of pink in it?

In fact, click on it and watch in high quality (select bottom right hand corner). The difference is amazing.

My question to the dev's is:

If Alex gets this tweaked just right, is there a chance we could see this in a future release? maybe .8? :D

Also keep us updated on your missile effects alex

yes, we encourage the community in getting involved with modding any helping PR out in any way possible, hence why I helped alex find the files he needed :p

Nice too see the fans takeing charge! Keep up the killer work! Also make sure the missile trails are black, not white. They only look white at a distance when they are higher up in the air but the start of the missile should be black and then after a certan distance slowly change to white.

Also anybody have an idea if we could get jeeps to kick up some dust when they slide around, and get some good dirt driveing sounds, and break noises for them too? IMHO anything that makes the game more real without a major FPS hit on lower end PCs is totaly worth the truble.

I would make my own effects if I could but I have no idea how to use the BF2 editor and I'm totaly anal about the look of my stuff. IE in many of the FreeSpace 2 mods I made for my self I would take 4 days to get the right texture color. IE I did it pixel by pixel back then in JAPEG edit lol.

Well as long as the idea is there I might have to Download the BF2 editor and tool around with it my self IE the last time I used it was the version for BFV and I only did the map stuff because the effect stuff was not out yet.

Anybody point me too a link please!

Warren, the altimeter in BF2 is based on the map's sea level. To elaborate, water cannot be placed with a brush, but a single sea level is chosen for the map. The terrain is lowered and raised accordingly to create rivers, ponds, etc. with the BF2 Editor. The altimeter doesn't keep track of altitude from ground level, but from the map's sea level. (Test this by flying around on Jabal or Oman WAC.)

If we can add Alex6714's effect, what more work is there to be done?

I can find lots of missile trails, but I can´t find the one related to the hydra rockets. The hellfire for example uses e_smallmissile_trail_black and looking at the hydras it seems they use the e_dumbrocket_trail effect. Except, this is no where to be seen the the PR object_server.zip. I know the effect of the hydras is different from the VBF2 one so it isn´t using the vBF2 e_dumbrocket_trail, which then, is it using?

Mmm, @Rhino, How did you begin learning about the effects in the editor? I can guess a few things, but is there anywhere which tells me about the values that can be changed, or how to create/modify (as in, add another component to an effect) effects?

I have looked all over the editor forums, but it isn´t that helpful unless there is the specific effect posted.

all trial and error mate, you just have to play with stuff, see what stuff does etc, remember I started mapping for BF2 when there was only like 3 tuts up that didn't explain anything but the very basics :p

The hardest thiong is finding the right effect. That damn hydra is evading. Trying to substitute if for a different missile trail and see if that helps.
