Its hardly exclusively used for this. Fleet Air Arm Merlins are also used for ASW, and can be equiped for anti surface work.

Some RAF merlins are even used in airsea rescue work.

The lynx is in a league of its own, but is basically from the huey design, like a lot of lighter helos of the 1970s-80s period, with the multi role diversity the huey design had also, but much improved and lessons learnt, plus designed for the maximum speed any helicopter can go...

Aerospaceweb.org | Helicopter Theory - Maximum Forward Speed

The black hawk isn't the same as the merlin either. The merlin has three gas turbines, a massive amount of power for it's size, the merlin can be compared with the H-53 if you want a US/British comparison, although merlin is a lot newer, using latest GPS 3D map navigation and a like. Merlin is most defenetly not just used for special forces, there are Merlins used by Royal Navy and RAF.

Anyway, as far as the topic goes.I can't find the Saxon in the current release of PR, are they going to make a return? In northern ireland insurgency map perhaps.

EDIT: looking at the engine sizes, other then the blackhawks crash protection built in, and possibley extra armour, and it's sluggish speed due to these features, it is fairly similiar to the lynx in size and engine power.
